I needed to draw a tribute to my best VLD boy. He deserved so much more... rest in peace, my son.
in the meantime, this is what fanfiction is for. So he can have the happy life he should've gotten in the end instead of getting chucked under the bus for the sake of some drama and a mecha fight.

I agree that he deserved so much more. I felt bad for him as his story continued prior to his betrayal in s6 and hated him until reading reviews of s8. I honestly wish now that he hadn't died at all. Same for Zarkon and Haggar. And of course, Allura.

I always personally believed his 'betrayal' was rather rushed, poorly handled, and based entirely on circumstantial evidence. And despite that and despite Lotor's past, I was supposed to believe that the Voltron team was entirely right to lock him in that Rift and leave him to die and that just makes me... afsklfjsd sorry, i will spare you the rant pff. this whole subject gets me riled up, i think. XP

I believe it was, too, after s8's premiere, even if he had only lived for three seasons. And understood! I was split during that part - with being on Voltron team's side to put him in there and being on Lotor's side because I'm sure that Rift thing hurt like hell. And okay ^^

yeah, even if he was a totally evil maniac not worthy of redemption (which i don't believe he was), nobody deserves to literally melt alive. :U That was totally inhumane, but it was the "good guys" who did it and nobody ever questioned it...

That is very true. Even good guys can do horrible things and some don't seem to notice that. (ex: Dean and Sam torturing demons to get answers out while demons and sometimes angels do the same thing). Tbh, I did question it in my head as his death occurred, as to how the team didn't notice what they were doing.
