Description
Oh dear, now everyone will know how old I am. Here's a picture of Gloria Baker from the old MASK cartoon and Shark, the Porsche 928 that turns into a submarine. I believe she was responsible for starting my German sports car fixation at an early age.I took a lot of the yellow out of her outfit (what were they thinking in the 80s?), gave her some cleavage, and the car is a more recent model, from the last production run in the 90s. Drawn & inked by hand, colored in photoshop, sometime last year apparently.
oh yes, Illusion Is The Ultimate Weapon.

Yup. the car in the original TV show was an '84 or '85 928 S, (and often appeared to have been drawn by someone who had never seen one before).
I used a photo of a later (early 90s) GTS as a reference when drawing this picture, so it would look a bit more modern.

I love the 928 GTS in many ways.
The 928 GTS has a massive 5.4 liter engine
(larger than a Mercedes S500)
and a power output of 350 hp
might hit a top speed of 270 km (assuming).
It's in a class of its own.
anyway, good job on making the car look more modern. fantastic.

When I bought my 944 (a couple years ago) the dealership also had a gunmetal 928, with a black interior; it was more than 10 years old, but was in perfect showroom condition. Sadly I couldn't afford it (and had already made a deal on the 944 anyway). It was a truly beautiful car, though, and unique looking as well, which is a hard quality to find in cars nowadays.
I'd bet it could hit 270kph/160mph easily enough; the less powerful 944 can.

WOW!
THAT'S A REALLY COOL STORY.
AND THE 928 GTS WAS A LIMITED PRODUCTION CAR OF THE 1990S
TODAY, IT MIGHT GO TO PRICES OF ABOUT $35,000~42,000 (ASSUMING)
eXPENSIVE BUT GREAT.
BY THE WAY, DO YOU KNOW THE 924?

I think they were selling it in the high $20K range, more than I could come up with at any rate.
My sister's boyfriend used to have a 924, a 1979 I think. He traded it in for a used Carrera a few years back; it's age was catching up to it and it was in the shop more than it was out (it was starting to burn oil). It was a great little car though, especially when cornering.

I think it was a 964 series, from the early 90s (I haven't visited my sister for awhile, so I haven't seen it lately). They may have taken the 924 for parts, but sadly it was pretty much done for without work on the drivetrain.
I still see lots of 924s on the road though, they last forever if you take good care of them.

A 964 YOU SAY????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ttTTHHATS JUST NUTS!!!!
IN GERMANY WHERE I LIVE, YOU CAN NEVER, EVER BUY A (DRIVABLE)
964 WITH A SIMILAR PRICE OF A 924!!!!!
ALL 964s IN GERMANY IS $9000 OR MORE.
UNLESS OBVIOUSLY IF IT'S A DAMAGED VEHICLE AND THE ENGINE GONE, IT WOULD BE LOW IN PRICE.
MY FATHER HAS A 03' CAYENNE WITH 128,000KM (71,0000 MILES) ON THE ODOMETER.
IT'S STILL PROBABLY WORTH A LOT.
I'M STILL IN SHOCK. STILL IN SHOCK.
UR SISTER'S BOYFRIEND MUST BE A VERY SMART and WELL-NEGOTIATING GUY.
WOW.

Well, by traded I mean a dealership trade in, where they severely undervalue the car you're trading in and discount as much from the price of the car you're buying. It's usually not worth doing unless you really don't want to bother selling the old car, or it's in bad enough shape that no one would want it.
I don't know what he paid, but it was a 10 year old car by then and they were going for $40K-50K depending on condition and mileage, and he said he'd paid price within the usual range. For a 924 in running condition they probably gave him $2000 or less.
