I have to say i really like this version best (especially as I can use it as my wallpaper without risking sexual harrasment) and the whole Tomb raider vibe. I hope to see more of your Egyptian work

Interestingly enough, I'm using this one for my PC wallpaper as well (It doesn't quite fit so I had to rework it slightly).
I suppose I could use the nude version for my laptop, but that'd get me banned from various wi-fi hotspots once somebody thinks of the children.

Yeah it probably would (well unless you are in S. Korea)

It is quite rare for me to like both the clothed and unclothed version of a picture, but this is an exception. I LOVE IT! It's just incredible in both forms.
While were on the subject of everyone's favorite frequently naked goth, I had a question I would like to pose to you.
I have begun work on the sequel to Miyuki's- Truth Be Told, aptly titled The Golden Gate, and had an idea that I now can find no proof of. Does Clarissa have any affinity to or involvement with dark magic (or magic of any kind for that matter) Please let me know, as your answer will determine how I bring Clarissa into this story.
Thanx.

You know it's interesting, while I was working on this I found the two versions really started to look different, even though they were the same file with the top layers turned on or off.
As far as magic and the supernatural go, I think for any serious kind of story I'd like to treat it like the X-Files, where you never really know whether there's a rational explanation or not until the big reveal, but it really depends on what kind of storyline you want; a zombie plague in a small town wouldn't work too well if you don't see the zombies. The setting where all this takes place is our reality, more or less, so most people don't believe in the supernatural or have witnessed anything definitively supernatural.
Clarissa is very interested in supernatural things, but her approach is more of a scholar than a practitioner (she's studying to be a scientist, after all) so her interest would be more about what people believe and why than attempting it herself. Since she's naturally inquisitive she'll certainly read the Cursed Book Which Must Never Be Read Aloud, or accidentally awaken the mummy or what have you, but never on purpose.
I hope that makes some sense; just how much supernaturalism should be in things is something I often find it hard to balance.

That does help, actually. It does mean that I will have to rework a few things, but I would prefer to remain accurate to your characters rather than making something up that works for my story. (except in the case of Hale Shimada, of course.)
The concept was to have Clarissa able to sense what was being held back by the Golden Gate, and thus know if/when something went wrong. (Hence her attunement to Magic) Since she is more studying than practicing, this will need to be adjusted.
No worries though, I will find a way to bring Clarissa into this story. She was conveniently absent from Truth Be Told, which I hope to explain in some clever way, but considering how important she is in Miyuki's life, I knew that eventually she would need to be incorporated.
Thanx for the clarification. I'll see what I can do.

I kind of got the impression that the events of Truth be Told took place over a few days (and a busy few days, at that) so it's very possible she was out of town on an archaeological adventure, or hunting criminals, or any number of other things.
As a researcher she could still find clues and such, like Joseph Strauss' copy of the Necronomicon, or something about pre-existing evil from some conquistadores. There are Ohlone legends about a lot of local landmarks, but oddly not the Golden Gate, at least none that survived.
Anyhow, go with what you feel works best; I look forward to seeing it.

Well, you are correct in the length of time that Truth Be Told runs. A couple of stressful, violent, emotional, and explosive days make up the entirety of the story. I was thinking about making her excuse for missing the 'festivities' an archaeology thing... perhaps even something that could play into the events to come.
I have not heard of Ohlone legends, but it is a concept that I could easily run with. (just cuz I'm weird, don't you mean a couple of Conquistasaurus' )
Thanks for the info and the interest
