Description
The Katar is a weapon particular to the Indian subcontinent; the traditional fighting knife of the Rajputs it would later be adopted by the Mughals as well. Being a short range, almost purely offensive weapon (thrusting is easy, but try to parry) it was considered the epitome of bravery to hunt a tiger with one (or a pair). When I was in India I was on the lookout for a Katar for sale, but the only one I saw was a bit overpriced (nice, but overpriced). Hopefully I'll be back there next year, so maybe then.I had mentioned buying a wacom at some point - I still haven't, and it looks like I'll probably need to replace my PC soon - it's soldiered on pretty well with replacements and upgrades over the years, but it's starting to have all those indiosyncratic problems that come with time - worst of which is the processor fan failing to start on occasion - and I'm thinking I might as well buy a new one before this one goes out completely.
Anyway, here's a (presumably) naked Miyuki with some exotic weapons. Just something quick, to make sure I still know what I'm doing.
Enjoy,
-D

There's a Guitar Hero pun. I'm not really that familiar with Deadliest Warrior, did they do a kukri vs katar comparison at some point?

They tested the katar in season 2 episode 6 and the one expert made the joke that he was the 'katar hero'.

Darn, I was hoping it was original, although I suppose chances were slim. What warrior was the episode about that they had a Katar? Or was it just a bunch of traditional Indian weapons?

It was the Rajput warrior from India. He was put up against a Roman Centurion.

Miyuki knows how to hold a katar and look sexy at the same time.

I feel you on the computer problems. My laptop is taking 20 seconds to almost 5 minutes to turn on now. Guess it's just reaching the end of it's life. Gonna have to replace it soon I guess. Oh well. Such is life.
The peek at Miyuki's boobies makes it easier to take though.

You might be able to fix that with a fresh install of Windows, or maybe just going into your settings and disabling some programs at startup. Of course there are some things (antivirus and backup utilities) that you want to launch at startup that will turn out to be the key part of the problem. Laptops are in some ways worse than desktops too, since you can't swap out individual components to keep them viable for as long.
I don't mind buying a new PC too much, for once I'll find myself replacing it while I'm steadily employed so I won't have to cut corners - I'm likely going to buy a pre-built PC instead of doing it myself this time, although that will mean getting stuck with Windows 10. And pointless LEDs throughout the case, I really don't know why that's a thing.
Boobs marginally improve everything.

Well the thing is I put Windows 10 on here when it was free as the laptop originally came with Windows 7. So a restall just isn't in the cards. And I thought they took care of all that start up stuff when I had it looked at before. I dunno. I could try to look at it but again it just might be time to look into getting a new one. Stupid disposable technology.
Yes boobs to help improve most things.
BTW, I can't remember, did I send you an invite to my latest art jam?

Yeah, I was pretty leery of the free upgrade to 10 - in part because it just showed up out of nowhere pretending to be an update. I've been told often enough by lots of different people who's work revolves around computers somehow that they never switch to the new version of Windows when it first comes out since the bugs won't be fixed and drivers updated yet, so I've always done likewise. And then there was the question of doing a fresh install if something goes wrong or you want to swap in a new hard drive; it came up online almost right away and MS was a bit evasive, and then it turned out that no, you don't get another free install of Win 10, but they're happy to sell it to you.
Some antivirus software will also help with bloatware (Avast does a good job) and you can always tell Windows what you want to launch on startup - or you used to be able to; another thing I don't like about the Win 10 laptops we have at work is that the settings are much harder to get at. Windows wants you to trust that it knows best, but that has never been the case.
A pre-built PC will come with Windows 10 pre-loaded, in the past it would also come with a backup copy on disk but nowadays I'm not so sure.
You did send me your latest, I'll see what I can do. My sister and her family just moved overseas and we're trying to get her house here rented out, so everything's kind of a mess right now.

Yeah I waited til the last minute to get it myself because of all the problems I heard with it. And even then I only upgraded cause I knew eventually they would stop supporting Windows 7.
Ah. Well it's okay if you can't. Obviously family and personal stuff comes first.
