Description
I finished this piece up a few months ago, in time for C2E2 2010, and just realized I forgot to put it up in my gallery. I will be selling prints of this and plan to do an entire series of WWII themed nose girl prints. At my current rate I'll be lucky to get one or two done a year. :-PHope you like it!

Too many, hahaha. I've been drawing ever since I can remember. Started as a hobby, then I took special classes in high school, when to art school (college), then started drawing professionally after a stint in the army. So basically I spend the bulk of my days drawing. I've been doing it professionally for about fourteen years. Does that help?
Thank you very much for the kind words; they're much appreciated.
For the record: an artist is only as good as their reference. Even if I draw a lot of stuff from my head, it's only because I've soaked up years and years of reference. I used reference for all aspects of this piece. I used a photo of a model (for the woman, not the plane) for this piece - no tracing. My girl is taller than the model; different head and outfit. I used a sketchup model for the planes, augmented with details from photos of the real thing, and even found pictures of the ocean from far overhead to base the background on. It's all about how the pieces come together. That's what you've got to have in your head from the start, and have a sense for how they'll all work together to make a pleasant composition.

Thank you. I see things in it I'd like to do better but overall I am proud of it - I just have to make sure the next one lives up to it.

That's all we can do. Review what we've done and learn from our mistakes. Then the next images are always better But we're artists, nothing is ever 'just right' in our eyes! LOL
Keep making them my freind.

Thanks. It's authentic as far as the Candyman video goes. Well, except for the planes. Those are authentic.
