Description

These two are my concept characters for if team Order won splatoon 2’s final splatfest.

Sulphur (on the left) is Fryes naive younger sibling who works alongside Samson (on the right) as weather forecasters for “Outcast”, a popular news brand in smaller cities whose main populations aren’t inklings.

Al is the former head of Shivers Family as her father, who got kicked out after making incredibly shady deals with certain people. Although he works part time for Outcast, his main job is as the Marketing director for Grizzco.

Sulphur left her family home after Frye, hoping to become an idol just like her older sister and manage to score a job at Outcast. Later on after receiving a Grizzco brand deal, she convinced Samson to join her to regain some dignity.

Sulphur is based on and named after sulphuric acid, a common component in acid rain. She also is based heavily on jellyfish. Originally she was going to be Fryes mother, but when I redesigned her I felt that she looked a bit too young and instead made her a sibling.

Samson is based on Japanese kitchen knives, the salmon shark and salmon sushi. He’s meant to be a, quite literal, loan shark.

In game they act much like other idols and introduce stages. However instead of sitting inside an office they’d actually be standing in the location and making quips. There could also be some potential for them to do very short animated skits, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up. For special events they’d use an actual office room. When not on air you can see them in their office, and occasionally when scrolling through shops you can see them in the background trying on clothes or talking to other shoppers.

I’d imagine that like deep cut they’d also have bossfights. For Sulphur I’d absolutely make it so she uses a Brella weapon, and perhaps also have her use the bubble blower to create bubbles with bombs inside to attempt to harm the player. When the bubbles pop due to the bombs it can either one shot the player, or create a very brief rain of ink.

For Samson I’d make him use some very overpowered Grizzco weapons (namely the bow) as well as multiple specials like the tenta missiles to make him a real pain to go against. Between these I’d also have him unleash different kinds of salmonoids into the arena which you need to defeat, like a boss rush.
