Hm...you could just keep on getting more details: Add another, darker colour on it's back and work a bit on the spikes or add a few would-be spikes to make the skin a lil bit textured (not too many though, that will look ew). -Also you could add a few highlights that would make it shiny
As for the rock you could refine the lineart (also for the character) and add more details there, too.
On a different not I'd change the lighter part of the bg to something yellowish, using pure white (or pure back for that matter) is always a rather 'risky' thing as it will 90% not look very natural ^^

Ooh <:3 what's a "would-be spike"? detailing is my worst part xD my mind can't think up any, and I don't know the rules yet for how to make something look 3d

*would-be scale, gawd, my concentration really is lacking ._. What I meant was drawing scales, but not too many and not too clearly, just so the viewers knows they are supposed to be there. eg the wings arm here (bad example) [link] , you think it's scaled but in reality it's only some halfcircles.
Yeah lol it's always hard to start but you have layers afterall -so if you mess up you can just delete it xD
