Found time for some quick sketches tonight!First up, a re-design of my old OC, Mo.
DESIGN NOTES:
- Major changes to her appearance. More of a stereotypical nerd look.
- Added glasses!
- She's still best friends with Gertie, missing a tooth, flat chest, is the intelligent one, loves building stuff, etc.
- As much as I love the old "greasy tomboy mechanic" look, I just might have to save that design for different character in the future...
- Wanted to make her look like the kind of person who'd hole themselves up in their garage/lab for days and tinker with machines.
- Make people wonder, "How the HELL is she best friends with someone like Gertie????"
- As for colors, not sure yet. Might go with a brown/green/yellow color scheme, or go for a monochromatic black/white/purple one... I'll deal with that later.
I dunno. At this point, everything's still too rough/early in development.
Nothing set in stone yet.

I really liked the old design too, BUT this one is just as good, plus she now has a really nice contrasting style to Gertie. Like you already said, she'll make people wonder how those two are friends. Overall, I think her new look will go a long way in making the duo stand out a whole lot more. Well done!

I like this version better. The old design was pretty readily identified as a tomboy mechanic, end of story. Like all the other tomboy mechanics. But this one looks like a tinkerer and you need more story to tell more about her. She doesn't look overly brash too. I like that. A sort of inquisitive look about her.

I LOVE the "tomboy mechanic" design and character type.
However, that didn't exactly match what I had in mind for Mo's character.
(Will definitely re-use that old desing for another OC in the future.)
Mo's design/personality seems to be the one I'm having most trouble with.
This design didn't turn out perfectly either, so it's back to the drawing board for me!

yeah I kinda agree with you I personally like the tomboy-ish look but the character is still has a dorky-able character
