Hey guys!

So this is something I've been thinking a lot of over the last year or so.

Basically, I believe I've outgrown the name Bon AppetEats. When I first started, I told myself I would never do anything but miniature food since sculpting was hard. Well, that worked for a few years, but I got bored. So I branched out into other things (dragons, ponds, etc).

Here's the issue - now that I'm not really making miniature foods all that much, the name really doesn't make sense. People confuse my sculptures for food items. I feel limited by my name in a sense.

I do like the name. I am attached to it - after all, it's been my business identity for the last 6 years. At the same time, I feel it's time to grow and move on.

I won't do anything different. I'll still do foods and charms from time to time. I will definitely keep making miniature ponds and hopefully larger and more detailed sculptures.

I don't have a new name picked out yet, but I do have some in mind. They are free and available everywhere pretty much, so I just need to make up my mind and swap!

I've been on here the longest of any of my social media accounts. I really would love some input from my followers here, especially the ones that have been with me from the beginning. If you could vote on my poll, or leave some feedback here, I would greatly appreciate it.

Do what feels right. How about Juste Petit?

Situations change over time, and if you feel the work you do now is not best represented by the name you work under currently, then changing it is the best course of action ^_^

How about "Bon-Petites" for a new name?

Fun fact, when my husband came up with this names, he intended it to be spelled Bon ApPetites. Somehow I got AppetEats. lol

I believe it may be beneficial to change your name, as it does not reflect all of the beautiful art that you are creating now.

That said, I would be really happy if you'd considering keeping "Bon-AppetEats" as a brand name for your miniature foods, I still feel that it's an attractive and catchy calling card for those pieces.

I have a new name picked out and ready to go once I find someone to do a logo for me.

I am keeping myself registered as Bon AppetEats, but will file a DBA (doing business as) the new name. That way I'll keep Bon AppetEats to use if I want to later. I do like the idea of using it as the name of the line of my miniature foods though!

As a new user just having discovered your (wonderful) work, I can second this.  I did feel a brief confusion looking at some tiny frog sculptures and wondering if they were somehow food related or edible.

At the same time, it's a great name in it's own right, and well worth hanging onto in some capacity.  Maybe your food sculptures could become part of your Bon-AppetEats series or something.

I'd say do what you feel best fits your business!  I've been following you for a long while but I want you to do what you think is needed.  We'll learn your new name like we learned it the first time ouo  Keep up the great work!!

I do have a new name in line that I feel will work. It's even vaguely food related so it'll tie in!

I agree with everyone here basically. If it doesn't fit it doesn't sit (lol couldn't help myself).
I did my name change earlier this year, though I will say make sure you really like the name you pick. Because you will have it for the next half year till you can change it XD

I found a name that I intend on keeping from here on out. It's got a lot of sentimental meaning to me and is wide enough that even if I drastically change what I'm doing, it'll still work!

Well good luck!
I had a name that I was dead set on getting when I changed, sadly it was taking and all the variations were too x.x
Hopefully you won't end up in the same position XD

If you feel your name no longer reflects your craft, best to change it.

If you feel like the name doesn't suit you anymore you should start thinking of a new one, but I know how hard it is to change your pseudonym . Good luck to you

It will be weird for sure, but I have picked a name that I'm very comfortable with (it's got huge sentimental meaning to me).
