prior to birth: Burntail and Beetleclaw, two OakClan warriors, grew to be close friends during their apprenticeships. As adults, Beetleclaw found a mate in the warrior Patchfeather, while Burntail's feelings for Beetleclaw began to develop romantically. Burntail desired a mate and kits of her own and asked Beetleclaw to father her kits in order to provide her with a family.

kithood: Bramblingkit was born to Burntail along with Emberkit and Birdkit during leafbare. The three siblings were incredibly close from birth and spent a lot of time playing together. As a young kit, Bramblingkit was introduced to Pondpaw, then a plucky young apprentice, when he accidentally framed her after causing mischief in the medicine den. However, when she found out the truth, Duscleback took pity on the small she-cat and allowed her to watch Pondpaw serve out his punishment: cleaning up his mess! The two of them developed a fast friendship; Bramblingkit also met several other new cats (Honeypaw and Frecklekit to name a few) and explored around camp with her brothers.

adolescence: Bramblingpaw became an apprentice alongside her brothers - now Emberpaw and Birdpaw - and was apprenticed to the newly made warrior Fallmist. It was around this time that she began to grow feelings for Pondpaw, but when she found out that Emberpaw also had a crush on Pondpaw, she decided that her bond with her brother was more important than her crush on one of the most popular cats in the Clan. Bramblingpaw unfortunately lagged back severely in her training and watched with a mixture of pride and jealousy as her brothers - now Embertail and Birdfire - became warriors without her, but she is determined now to become a warrior by the next ceremony and will put her best effort into her training.
