Hummingbird in gel pen, reference photo by dreamweaver69stock , here . The scanner completely messed this image up, so had to take a photo, which still isn't perfect. Ah well

Wow, I remember gel pens haha. This must have taken forever! Great rendering.
The only thing I dislike is that the tips of the wings are cut off.

Actually only took a couple of hours. The original doesn't have the tips of the wings cut off, and there's also a flower underneath his beak. It was too big to scan, and I couldn't stitch 2 images together without it looking terrible

Aw, good! I was wondering why you would bother to cut off the tips of the wings.
Did you try taking a picture with a digital camera and then cropping the excess out? That's what I do with my larger ones. Just make sure there is a good amount of natural light when you take it.

Tried taking a photo but didn't really work out, partly because the glitter in the gel had strange effects on the camera. Maybe I didn't have enough natural light. Will give it another go
