If you like Star Trek, chances are really good you'll like Stargate. It's scifi, but it takes place more in modern times, with a team traveling through a device (the Stargate) that allows them to instantly move between planets. I love Stargate. XD
(deLancie isn't in it a LOT, though. He just plays an antagonist that comes in later and appears every now and then.)
