Something of a follow-up to this picture Prince Paka and Princess Kapuki (who looks a lot like her grandma ) who I talked about here They’re the children of a previous Lion Guard leader, many generations before Simba came around.

It became more or less tradition for those of their stature (aka there’s nothing for them to directly inherit, but they’re still part of the royal family) to work as ambassadors for the Pridelands. Sometimes a higher up royal will take on that role as well, but they’re very likely to be betrothed away to another kingdom—so the role of ambassador usually falls to just the cousins. It’s not a strictly royal role, however, if there’s nobody of royal blood who needs a job, someone else can always be trained for it
