In my headcanon, it is only the crown prince or crown princess who is presented to the Pridelands. The second born, third born, etc. etc. are not presented, just the heir. Where did this come from? Well, it came from the first monarch of the Pridelands having six children in rapid succession, and having to have ceremonies for every single bloody one of them—when the second monarch had her three children, she decided it wasn’t worth the hassle. Ever since then, it’s been a one-and-done deal

And here we have elderly Mohatu keeping baby Taka company, as baby Mufasa (born a few minutes before his fraternal twin brother, therefor the eldest and the heir) is taken to meet the kingdom
