FULL VIEW/DOWNLOAD PLEASEmy very first tutorial; go easy on me. basically just going over how I personally do my pictures.
if you can't read my writing:
Welcome to my tutorial! My friend suggested I make one... so I'll give it a shot. I'm basically just gonna do step-by-step on how I use Photoshop to do my pictures. well here goes...
1. load scanned image.
2. create 2 more layers ---------> fill this with white
3. lower the opacity of your scanned image to 50% ( or lower if you want)
4. select the lineart layer.
5. zoooooooooooooooooooooooom. I like it at 400%-500%
6. now take the bush tool and set the size to 1
7. begin tracing over your lineart.
8. keep going until you're done. **you can check your lineart from time to time by clicking the eye (on the layers menu) on your scanned image. that way all you see is the nice clean lineart with the white background.**
-i'm gonna finish by using the pen tool/line tool
- and don't worry about any messy outside edges... we'll be fixing that.
9. Now set your brush to 3 and just go over the outside edges.
*Keep in mind that you can use your eraser tool to get rid of lines you don't want and to clean up your thick edging.
9 1/2? you can get rid of or disappear your scan to eliminate scruffiness.
10. keep going around the edges until you are done and are happy with it.
11. Create a new layer + place it under your lineart. we will use this layer for coloring
12. just get the basic colors down.
*some people make many layers of color...(hair, skin, shirt, etc..) I just put them all in one.
- i used the gradient tool for the guitar's colors.
13. decide on your light source.
14. then you can start with your shading and highlighting.
15. Hoorah! Done with shading! you can add all the lil details.
16. Add a spiffy background. make sure its under 'color' and 'lineart'
TA-DA! You are now DONE!
I hope you liked my tutorial. Hey it was my very first time. Gimme a break.

I like it a lot! It is very clear, but might I suggest typing instructions? It would make the whole thing flow more smoothly. Anyway, excellent work!
