Description This is the gravity gun I've been working on for about a couple weeks. Poly count is 38,278. 13 bones. 4 are particle attachments. There is a no draw material for the glass since gmod doesn't want to make it transparent and idk how to do that. But SFM's does have glass on the gauge. This picture was made by digivee , textures are fromΒ www.cgtextures.com/ , other help from SfManiac and all the help from my friends keeping me on this model. Please report any bugs you may have. Gmod users need the joint tool for the prongs and front part.

Gravity gun is owned by VALVe and as is Gordon Freeman.

I have to say, this is outstanding work! I love the smoothness of the model and the interpretation of the barrel of the gun, how it actually has a chamber with concave ridges and grooves, and the glowing orange tubes on the outside. And the grip's become lumpy like a bike handle, nice touch. That's awesome that you added the bones, animators are gonna eat that up. The gauge with the color spectrum is an interesting change, it makes the device look a little more user-friendly. Although if you truly wanted to measure how many "amperes" or whatever its output is, then the meter's less useful.

You're probably not interested in improving this model since you posted it over a year ago, but if you are I have some suggestions.

The gray metal textures look pretty flat and light-colored, with hardly any shine to them. Some added contrast to the colors on the texture would bring out the detail and all the little scratches on the surface.

Also, was the stock/butt of the Gravity Gun meant to be crooked? From a top-down angle it bends to the right.

There's another interpretation of the Gravity Gun that I prefer as far as overall textures, but not really the model, it's a little more recent. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles…
Though based on your description it sounds like maybe texturing isn't your forte. Still, might be worth a look if you're interested in a future revision.

There was some changes to it but I've not bothered with fixing it. like if you look at the blender render. Also eh.. yea source materials aren't my thing. Kinda wish it was a node based system.

It's in gmod. But I don't have it as a replacement. No one has got to me on how to. and others say it's "too high poly for it" So idk

Oh. It would be nice to have it in the game though. It's a really good design!

It's a very.... strange model to use. I think I'm too used to the standard Gravity Gun, I've been using a HD-Remaster model for the gun based on the viewmodel for ages now, that and handling NECA's action figure reaction and seeing pics of the prop replica have got me very used to the original.

Yours looks good, and has some nice features, just... I don't think it's for me. It feels unnatural in the way it deviates from the original.

well with how old the original was. There isn't really anyway to keep it close to the original. and the "hd" one you have. Can't be too good if I never could find anything on it when I looked. Only complaint people been having on my model is that it's not a reskin. Other than that. the other 11000 people like it X3

"Can't be too good if I never could find anything on it when I looked."

steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles… Β It's this thing, specifically the one with HD textures. Somewhat choppy in places, but I love it.

Doesn't look really any different tbh. Just a little touched up.

Meh, it's good enough for me.

Again, nothing against your model, it's clear you put a lot of work into it, and I'm glad it got through. It's just not my cup of tea.

Noice. Would you say this is one of the harder works compared to what you usually do?
