Only able to make out the lights, each one almost forcing me to pray- that somehow from this cover you could be produced.

So invisible- physically and emotionally.
All shots of courage have died down.
Nature cannot trust what nature did not create.
What one could have been magical-pure, has been stolen from our grasp.
Categorized, analyzed.
Let us make it plastic- packaged pain.
It drifts overhead, catapulting memories as I choke on death.
I had hoped you would only blacken my eye.
I was not expecting the tears.
Fighting for freedom- how foolish of me to assume I would live to enjoy it.
I have been tainted, I have been made faulty.
Though I still continue on.
At least pretend, please just pretend I will make it home.
I can see your face- masked with such serenity.
But only in front of public judgements.
Please know, I am now numb.
I do not know the extent of damage that has been unleased.
I do not remember the smiling corpses, piled upon one another.
Laughing or so it seems.
Unable to grasp peace before they died.
No longer able to hear my heart beating madly, desperately.
Wave off to those I knew.
Her face fills my thoughts, as instead of her touch cold steel greets me.
