Description
The Common Butler (Grell x Reader) Chapter 3You have been at Madam Red’s estate for a couple weeks now, and you and Grell
finally have a good routine going. Everyday was of course filled with mishaps caused by
Grell and to be honest yourself. Things were quiet around the manor, considering that
Madam Reds work is exhausting, being a doctor and all. Grell and you were left alone a lot,
bonding and playing games every now and again. You still have failed to see Grells true
form which bothered you, after all you two at least acted like best friends. You thought
about this, staring at the pages of the book you were previously trying to read. You
frowned at the book, trying to think of a way to see his true form. You suddenly heard the
door open, and you looked up at none other than Grell Sutcliff. You smiled tiredly and
continued your ‘reading’. It was then you realized what exactly the book was about. “Oh, a
book about Grim Reapers, an interesting subject no?” You questioned Grell looking him dead
in the eye for any faults in his act. He only acted perfectly in human character, “Why
yes, if you believe in that sort of thing.” He said and then chuckled. “Well, I do.” You
stared at his green eyes with such ferocity you swore that your (e/c) eyes might burn his.
He seemed to understand what you were doing now and he sifted in his seat, obviously not
conformable a ‘human’ is so close to his real identity. He caught his composer and rolled
his eyes, “Honestly _______, that a little ridiculous.” He chuckled again. You narrowed
your eyes at him when he look away, not happy with this at all. Why was he not telling you
the truth? More importantly, you thought, why does it feel like he is ripping out my heart
by doing so. Angered you slammed the book shut and stormed out. This is why you don’t get
close to people… then again… aren't you being kind of a hypocrite? Your inner voice
intervened with your angry thoughts. You slowed your pace toward you room and thought about
it. It really isn't fair for you to hate him for this, after all you know for a fact he his
Grim Reaper, after all he obviously wore glasses and had typical green eyes while you had
(e/c) eyes, and great eye sight at that. You spun on your heel, temporarily insane; you
just had to get this off your chest. After you realized you fault in this, you chest felt
restricted, clutched in the hand of guilt. You flung open the library door and looked at
Grell who was looking out the window and frowning. He turned to surprise at you entering
suddenly, and looked very concerned. “_______! You’re crying! What happened?” Shocked you
reached up to your face and felt tears, and your eyebrows crashed with each other in
confusion. You haven’t cried since you were 5. You shook your head and looked him dead in
the eyes. “Grell I have to tell you something, and you have to promise to answer a question
after okay?” You looked at him and his wide green eyes, he only gulped and nodded. “Grell,
I am a Grim Reaper.” You rushed out of your mouth, his eyes widen further than you thought
was possible. He was about to speak but you cut him off, “And the real reason I was on the
streets is because I caused a lot of trouble, got caught, and was so far demoted that I had
to live as a typical human life for 4 years.” You ended up looking at the ground somewhere
in your impassioned speech and then locked eye with Grell again. “Now for my question, are
you Grell Sutcliff a Grim Reaper?” He looked at you processing what just happened. He
grinned and suddenly a comb was in his hand. He undid the red ribbon and it fell to the
floor. Suddenly his hair changed from a common brown to a vibrant, exciting red. You
grinned at his new appearance, his sharp teeth, false eyelashes, the new glasses with a
granny chain, which he somehow managed to pull off. You body checked him in whole. “Why on
earth would you be in that other form? It’s so common, common doesn't suit you Grell.” He
smiled, “Well of course, but most humans are common now aren't they?” You laughed and
nodded. “Now dear what is your true form, it would only be fair after all.” His composition
suddenly got confident, which you found… rather attractive. “Well, I have to say compared
you yours, it is very boring.” You smiled at him, happy you decided to come clean. You
shook your hair, turning it a beautiful (any color) with (any color) tips you hair coming
just perfectly at your (hips, shoulders, ect.) Your eyes now were a rainbow, every color
perfectly aligned inside your iris, but it quickly faded back to (e/c) when you weren't
using your power or full of emotion. Grell look truly impressed with your true form, and
strut over to you. “Well darling~ Looks like we are both ten times more fabulous right
now.” Grell said cheerily. You laughed and nodded, “It’s been so long since I have had a
friend like you Grell… thanks for that.” At the end of the sentence you looked and the
suddenly very interesting book shelf. He cautiously grabbed your chin, and made you look
at his smirking face. “No problem _______.” He whispered in you ears. You eyes were now
glowing the beautiful array of colors. Grell released your chin, but stay close. “If you
don’t mind me asking, why don’t you have normal Reaper eyes, and why do you not have
glasses?” You sighed and shrugged, “I wish I knew Grell, it’s been like this for as long as
I can remember.” You looked out the window, your past always confused you, and you were
not sure how you ended up so weird, so powerful… You turned to Grell once again, snapping
yourself from your thoughts. “Hey, Grell?’ “Yes _______?” “Why are you working for Madam
Red?” He at first said nothing, and then after thinking for a while responded, “Same as you
I guess, can’t you tell how different she is? It’s interesting to say the least.” You
nodded, understanding his interest with Madam Red; she was unique in this common world,
which was a total rarity. Madam Red was a jewel indeed, but with two easily bored Grim
Reapers serving her,
how long will she exactly last?
