If it wasn't for a "Sans AU Themes" video on Youtube that I was curious and bored enough to click I would have never heard of this just today (er, tonight for me). Looking into it I have some words to say (don't worry, it's positive thoughts on this AU. but I do have my own personal disagreements).
First off, I LOVE the designs and as always, my favorite character Sans is there who somehow looks amazing in most AU designs. I love how you put time travel into this and it really makes it feel, sound, and look like an adventure! Though (this is just a personal disagreement) I don't like time travel things at all, I only like the thoughts and designs put into this AU. It is interesting for me to at least become knowledgeable about this so I'm not an idiot, but I'm not entirely too keen on really liking the concept of time travel. The characters (especially Sans) makes up for that though and I find the abilities cool as well as their appearance. It also looks like OCs are put in or some other "version"/representation of an Undertale character by personality and even some physical features which I kind find some interest in, but it honestly feels like a replacement in a way. I do find most of their designs quiet cute like Toriel's design.
One of the main reasons why this wins me over besides Sans is the futuristic theme/feel to it, the designs and time travel concept (despite it being based on going into the past) gives it a really nice futuristic feel and appearance. Understanding time travel things is something I can understand, but I just rather avoid having to know that the younger or future selves of said characters your used to are different. It's a hard feeling to describe, like, you love the idea and possible future scenes as well as designs, but thinking deeply into the time travel Au's reality logically just makes it a bit depressing and sad because it is the same characters, but at the same time, not. Here's an example; something based in an AU or game/story involving major time travel (in which it's important) is cool and amazing and you love it and some scenes, but if you think about the fictional world as if it's real along with the knowledge of what's happening and what will happen it makes it depressing because they won't be the same and the events they went through most likely changes what they once had. Again, it's still hard to describe, but I hope I didn't bore you with this.Β
I really and truly do love this AU and the thoughts that went into this and though I feel an ache in my heart about the time travel and it's effects while knowing the original timeline/future/present/past in which you see the changes even if it may be for the best, it kind of hurts because they don't know or one or a few remember, but are doomed to be the only ones with the memories. I LOVE this and I look forward to the rest of the comic! Now, I'm stuck with the hype of how cool and awesome Sans is in this. That's what happens when I really get into things, it's like being on a fan girling adrenaline rush that you just can't stop and leave the topic alone even when it comes to a dead end because you've checked everything the subject has to offer unless you get bored or sick of it.Β
Keep doing amazing, love this!
P.S. Is there reference or some kind of inspiration for this, because I'm curious about what made you think of this. Especially how you got the name for this AU.
