Description
Once again, we have descended to trench warfare. Thirty years of erosion have taken their toll on the corrugated steel pipe that allowed the babbling brook to pass beneath this country road. It is no more. Vast machines ripped It from its burrow, juggernauts crushed it beneath their treads and concentrated fire cut it to pieces.
A new, concrete box culvert will take the place of the old tube. In three weeks we have seen the road closed, a temporary bypass installed, the steel pipe pulled up and the footings for the culvert laid. The five modules of the culvert itself sat in a laydown yard somewhere since November of last year. Now, it has all come together and the project awaits... only a decent burial.

Major work going on here. I trust that no one found out about the problem the hard way.

So far, they haven't had to winch any errant vehicles out of the excavations.
The old corrugated pipe was down there more than thirty years and while it never provided a bottleneck, the new culvert is a standardized design. I doubt it will ever run more than a trickle to a few inches, but it should last 50 - 70 years.

It is my extreme honor to point out that this is a culvert.

It was announced today that he is going to be on the 50 pound note. My God, thanks for nothing! England should be ashamed of themselves.

I saw that on one of my tech-head feeds. About 65 years too late, don't you think? And when will the world apologize for what they forced Joe Meek to 52 years ago? And I've got hounds on FA demanding apologies because I don't portray gay sex in my stories. The world had changed.

It is leads like this that make this site all the better. I never heard of this guy until now. I thought Phil Spector was wackadoo, now he just seems eccentric. "After Brian Epstein asked his opinion of the Beatles ' demo tape, Meek told him not to bother signing them. On another occasion he signed a band on the condition that they get rid of their lead singer: a 16-year-old Rod Stewart ."
This guy was really something. I also would not like him, schizophrenics are awful people to deal with. Now this get interesting, I never heard of this murder- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_o…
I have no idea why someone would harangue a writer for not including sex scenes of any persuasion, nothing ruins a story faster for me. If it is pornography than the story is a distraction, and if it ain't then there is not much reason for that to be in there. I am bothered a lot by militant 'minorities'. People demanding acceptance and inclusion when they are going out of their way to be flagrant are immature and silly. I understand about banding together and trying to gain mainstream status, but the designation LGBTQ is mutually exclusive, a trans person does not claim to be gay, the L and G people don't get along, and Q is a rummage sale of brands. Of course, I do not want or desire another person sharing my life. Friends are awesome, partners a drag. I think it is a good idea to conceal one's defects, and being public about sexual taste is a defect. My rabbit is a complete degenerate and I mine his behavior because it amuses me, nothing is as funny as bad taste presented as good taste! (Eric Idle).

Joe Meek was certainly 'out there', but I didn't realize how far off the wall he really was. He made a number of hits and misses in his day to be sure. I heard about Bernard Oliver on a British documentary about unsolved cases that might have been serial killers' work. I never put the two together -- and the dates are just too close to ignore.
So far, I have released one story with mild sexual content. Code 10 has some innuendo, but no explicit scenes. I figure that most of my readers know how sex works, and if they don't, it's not my job to educate them. Yes, it's a monogamous, heterosexual relationship. That's about the limit of my personal experience, folks, and I write what I know. This individual told me I 'needed' to write gay porn to be accepted in the community. I thanked them for the suggestion but added that if they weren't following me on Fur Affinity or supporting me on Ko-fi, I felt no need to write to please them. Their next note called me a "CIS-Male homophobe" and a "HATR" and they were going to call on their friends to spam me with complaints and report me to the FA moderators. I blocked them and heard nothing from anybody. I haven't even bothered to report the incident.
Oddly enough, of the hate mail I've received over the years, it is usually from users that share a particular foible (I do love that word). They want to push the producers around, but if you look at the profile pages, they have either not posted anything, or they post art that someone else created. One guy posted a single, tiny, out-of-focus photo of his cat. If they have journals, they are full of end-stage teenage angst and hate (hello, Klebold and Harris). That Fuego-Fantasmal clown comes to mind.
Up next: I am coerced to write a story that proves the concept that marriage should represent the union of one man and one goat.

Andy Warhol married his tape recorder. That guy was always ahead of the pack. I have no idea where this CIS thing comes from. Most of these really nasty people on the net are pathetic children, or deteriorated schizophrenics. I blocked one guy who I have known since my SoFurry days because he always wants a fight. I don't see how people like this get on, really I don't. I just checked Fuego-Fantasmal, seems a bit full of himself but nothing I can really call over the top. If furry porn paid I would be so there, but I am not interested in drawing it for free, and who gives a damn anyway? Recently a guy from Lithuania started a fight with me just to feel superior, he kept replying to my increasingly angry letters with flippancy and rudeness. I finally told him about Lithuania's sorry ass record of collaboration with the Nazis. He angrily said that I was a person that would attack someone's country just to get at them, most insightful. I sent him a treatise on the Lithuanian SonderKommando volunteers, in Lithuanian, and that was the last I heard of him. That was the only real problem child I have met on this site. I had a nutcase girl write and tell me my art sucks, I agree with her completely and said so.

Andy Warhol was a special kind of weird. It's true: his first major commercial art job was illustrating Amy Vanderbilt's Complete Cookbook. He was right about that fifteen minutes of fame thing, too. I've been there, and it's over. Some people are famous their entire lives, others you never hear of, but it must average out somewhere. He only lived to be 58; strange that he looked so much older. If that's the ravages of fame, I'd sooner be ignored.
Fuego-Fantasmal sits and follows dozens, hundreds, i don't know how many producers, and looks for things that offend him. He despises strong women. He latched onto me when I said something negative about a character in a Rick Griffin comic who was mentally abusing his wife in The A&M Club. Shame on me; women are to be subservient, not strong and self-sufficient. That's what got me labeled an SJW.
I know a number of artists who support themselves doing furry porn. I even support a couple of them on Patreon. Ain't none of 'em getting rich, though.
I'm always having the French tell me how awful America is. Everything we've ever done is wrong, from the slave trade (that they fed) to imperialism (we followed their model). I remind them that we pulled their chestnuts out of the fire on many occasions -- 1917 and 1941, to name a few. Then there's the one who told me that Vietnam was all America's fault. Sure, go there. It was called French Indochina for a reason. Talk to me about imperialism.
If that bunny and Billy team up, the free world is toast.

France did the right thing and helped us put the boot in on Cornwallis. I regard WWII as an aberration, the French government and the Army let France down hard. When Mussolini decided he was missing out and attacked in the mountains, a couple of French divisions beat the hell out of the Alpini. But they can be irritating, and the Germans more so. I say we pull out of NATO and create a whole new club. England seems to be intent on destroying themselves, sorry about that, it's been fun. I had a Canadian tell me last week that we were in the wrong about enforcing our immigration laws. I let it go, I like the guy. Our problem now is China. They sure are aggressive for a country that groups nearly all it's population in megatargets.

Funny thing is, both France and Germany (well, Prussia) helped us out during the Revolutionary War. Since France's little revolution, it's been one cluster after another. I blame Charles de Gaulle for France's current attitude toward us. And for Vietnam.
Every time I see some Brit criticizing Trump or the U.S. in general, I ask them how they voted on Brexit. One of two answers: "I don't remember," or "None of your business!" Y'okay.

I used to correspond with the daughter of a French Lt. Col., Jean Marie Bastien-Thiry, who came very close to killing de Gualle twice in 1962. He was executed. This was the OAS trying to take out de Gualle, who betrayed the Algerian pied-noirs. I really admire a man named Roger Degueldre. When Algeria became a slaughter house, he was the one hitting back. Hard. He was also executed. de Gualle is an infuriating person. Well, France is paying for it now. Their Algerians are running riot as we speak and burning cities, all over a soccer game. It is foolish beyond belief to allow the third world into this one.
