Their names are Tweedledum and Tweedledee.
Do you know who these characters are?

aahhh... do you know the story Alice in Wonderland written in 1865 by English author Lewis Carroll? It tells of a girl who fell down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world, where she met characters like the Red Queen, the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, and also the identical twins Tweedledum and Tweedledee. I don't know if there is a German translation of it.
It is supposed to be a great classic, but I have never liked it.

yeah, they are so cute in these photos, can almost bite them!
They are more than fourteen years old now, and still lovely, even if they have lost this kitten-cuteness.
I don't know anything about your situation now, but I'm guessing, from your words, that you can't have any kittens at the moment? Your profile doesn't mention your age, but I'm guessing you are young? Hang in there, you have many years ahead of you to have and to love them.

14 years already? So most of your pictures of them are old?
Yeah, I CAN have kittens right now, if no one takes the kittens I put in the shelter in a few weeks. My mom will pay for food and stuff, but she doesn't want them to get pregnant and have too many kittens, and she doesn't want to spay/neuter 8 cats.

yes VERY old! My oldest cat is now nineteen.
Try and contact the SPCA or any of the animal shelters/charities in your area. Most of them have subsidies for spaying/neutering strays, or they have a list of vets who will do subsidized work for strays. Or the shelter that you are going to put them in will sterilise them?
My twenty-two cats and I wish you and the kittens all the best, and we hope you get to keep them.

Thank you ^^
I think they will be neutered/spayed at the shelter.
You have 22 cats?!Doesn't it cost a lot for food, litter, and toys for them?

pergamjee In reply to NinjaFlyingSheep [2010-07-27 04:11:15 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, the costs are high. But the humans are low maintenance. We donβt buy/use jewellery, high fashion clothes and goods; we donβt wine and dine at fine establishments; we donβt take trips overseas for holidays (a passion with our fellow countrymen); we donβt own a car (living in a city with efficient public transport helps) which costs a bomb where we are. Our needs are rather simple, and we live relatively stress-free in our little sanctuary with our little people.
Of course, it would really help if we can find an alternative to cat-litter!!
Many years ago, we had a neighbor who taught her two cats to use the toilet-bowl. Then, all she had to do was to flush a few times a day! Wow! But we failed at training our cats to do that.
On the subject of cat toys. From our many years of experience with many many cats, we have found some of the most popular toys are also the most simple. Like a length of thick cotton twine, a sash from an old bathrobe, the string from an old pair of drawstring-pants, even a long strip of fabric. To make it easier to flick in an enticing manner, try tying the string to a slim rod/stick (maybe from an old cat toy?). If you can find some feathers, bundle them together and tie to the end of the string and drag that in front of the cat. Most cats find that hard to resist. Just make sure that you put away such things when you are not around, just to be safe. A stick or your hand swishing under a sheet is good game too. Just rely on your imagination and your love. There is ABSOLUTELY no need to buy cat toys (Iβm gonna get killed by some cattoy manufacturers here).
Further on the subject of toys β BE very careful. There are many that are NOT safe. Many toys have bits/strips of cellophane or foil to add noise and glitter. These material are HIGHLY dangerous to cats. For example: cellophane, when injested by a cat, turns glass-like and can cut them up from the inside. The list of no-nos is long. So keep it safe and use natural materials like cotton, etc.

Well that's good, only pay for essentials.
My cat's are outdoor cats, so they just use our flower beds or go on our grass like dogs XD My cats usually play with anything ring shaped, round,or...well,just about anything. My kitten was entertained with one dice for 10 minutes, and Rocky plays with hair ties and those rings under the bottle cap on milk jugs. I know about leaving cats alone with plastic or string, as the can suffocate or choke on it. My cat accidentally choked on a string once, and I know to never do that again, unless I want to reach down his mouth for the end of a piece of string.

Hi!
I think they should be adopted soon, and should find some great new homes. Sorry for the late reply.
