Description
Mo (awake) + Mi (asleep). Twenty days. Female βWe took them in when they were about two weeks old.
These orphans were rescued when they were about one week old, by the security staff of an office building, and given to a cat-loving lady who worked in that building. She had a demanding job that required very long hours, and so didn't have the time to feed them as often as was required. After one week, they didn't put on any weight, and even started having diaorrhoea (probably a reaction to the formula they were drinking). They would surely die if things continued that way. So we took them in.
After we had them a few days, we noticed that the strange hairless patches round their mouth were getting larger and started looking and feeling damp. You can see the 'teddy bear' patches in the pic. The vet said it was fungal infection, but they were too young and the medication for that would be too toxic for them.
We were getting desperate. We couldn't just standby and do nothing while they suffered. So we went to the library to do research (oh yah, those were our pre-internet days!
Given their history, we have no idea which of these sisters was the elder; but we always felt that Mo was, as she appeared more "big-sisterly" ^^ Maybe it was just that she was a little less frail than Mi, but it sure looks like big-sister-concern in this pic and in pic (3) and (4).
This is the part of a set of five pics taken on the same day, that tells a part of their story...

These pics taken days later showed the improvement ...

yup, they are, aren't they? TheyΒ were strays/street-cats, of undeterminable breed. We never even saw their mum. We don't know if it's in their genes, but they grew up to be rather small adults (3+kg or about 8 pounds) - they were often mistaken to be kittens, even in their old age! ^^

I was asking because here their ears appear larger than the average kitten to me! SO I was wondering if they are a breed with large ears. My cat Β was the only kitten of my friends cat but his mother went crazy and abandon him so I took him and raised him since he was only a couple weeks old. Β I've taken him to the vet and he is 100% healthy but he is ALSO very small!! Only about 8 pounds now and he is a year and a half old!!Β

Ahso! Well, large ears is a common feature in our local street-catΒ population - you will probably see that in all our cats, as they are mostly rescued/adopted/abandonedΒ feral/stray kitties., such asΒ here ...
Β Β Β ... big ears, ya? ^^
eseliteΒ Β here on dA, takes beautiful pics ofΒ our local street cats, andΒ many have these large ears too, such as ...
Β Β
Β
Another common feature amongst the street cats here is the short and deformed tail - must be some sort of mutated gene.
Hey, yours is tiny too! Hmmm ... maybe it's the fact that they are deprived of mamma's milk when they are still too young? Never mind, as long as they are healthy, that's the most important. ^^

Woah that's really cool! I'll check out more of those pictures! Yeah I think he might be part Bombay though which is a small breed! But yes that they are healthy and happy is what matters.
