ok ok you got a point there ... the Lipton tea company is British (started in 19th century by a grocer in Glasgow), but it is now owned by UNILEVER. Getting swallowed up by the giants is a common enough occurence. Anyways, I am now a TWINNINGS tea drinker ... have been for the last decade ... and that is still British-owned, I think.

Yes, I thought the Brits had a thing about tea in little bags which to them taste like paper more than tea. I, personally, like Lipton but I was raised on it with irregular doses of Earl Grey tea mixed in at odd intervals.
I haven't forgotten you and the DE, just been extra busy with tax season as well as having both an Appeals case and another for tax court still pending.
No rest for the wicked...

hehehe ... guess I must have a bit of the brits in me!
I drink loose-leaf TWINNINGS Orange Pekoe and no other tea!
I always did like that best, but I used LIPTON teabags before mostly because of the cost difference. Then I decided ... heck care, I'm not getting any younger, so I had better start pampering meself!!
Oh, yes, we were also raised on LIPTON ... one more thing you and I have in common, eh?
Hey, no worries! This is the tax season!

I have a preference for Orange Pekoe and Pekoe Cut Black. I guess I come by tea drinking naturally since my maternal grandfather was British. Green tea just doesn't do it for me as it's too "thin", the only way I can think of to describe it, not enough body or taste.

Of course, what else would you expect? I like coffee, too, but not that civet shit stuff. I prefer to be the original user, thank you. I am, however, addicted to Jamaican Blue Mountain - far better than Kona. That said, I do drink more tea than coffee.

It's scary ... the commonalities keep increasing!
"prefer to be the original user" ::wipes away the tears::
When I first heard about the civet shit stuff, must admit I was kindna gross-out. Too chicken to try that. Never tried Jamaican Blue Mountain either; but Kona I tried when I was in Hawaii, and it was horrible!!!
During the four years I was studying in Fresno California, I was mostly a coffee-drinker as I couldn't find decent tea in the supermarkets (where was the Lipton that you were raised on? ). I was working part-time in a restaurant, and the coffee they were using was sumptious! We get many customers asking after the brand. Unfortunately, it's not available at the stores ... supplied to restaurants only. I can't remember the name, but I think it was Farmers' something or other. So, on days that I wasn't working the restaurant, I depended on Folgers. These days, I am a tea-totally.

Yes, they do, don't they?
Yes, none of that second hand shit for me. Well, there's Kona and there's Kona. It all depends on which island and how high it's grown but that's true for Blue Mountain to a degree except there isn't the elevation difference in Jamaica. It's by far the best coffee I've ever tasted - no bite, no bitter, if you get the really good stuff which a lot of the importers don't. They go cheap and pretend it's the real thing when it's a blend - same with Kona. In both, I want straight Arabica. No Robusta for me.
I think Lipton was primarily an Eastern and Southern brand for years because it started in the USA in, of all places, New Jersey! That's what we always drank at my paternal grandmother's in Texas, hot or iced.
Yes, Farmer Brothers is an excellent brand and was only available to restaurants for the most part. I used to have the cafe I did the taxes for order me 5 lbs at a time. It's mostly Kona but is a blend and is quite clean from pesticides. They use 100% Arabica as far as I know. You can now get it by mail from some store without being a restaurant. Folgers makes me literally sick. Very unhealthy stuff but not as bad as Hills Brothers. MJB isn't too bad. But I will continue to splurge and get Jamaican Blue Moutain.

So I was looking at the picture again, and now I see that the box is called 'TEH Yellow Label'. Is this the correct spelling? Teh meaning tea or something.

haha ... you have very sharp eyes! ^-^
You are the third person who has noticed that . . . . thought it was a misspelling of "The", and asked if the people at LIPTON are learning lolspeak!
"TEH" is what the Malaysians and Indonesians call 'tea'. The LIPTON tea sold in this region is processed mainly in Indonesia. And also, in this region, LIPTON is known as the YELLOW LABEL, probably in reference to their corporate/packaging colours.

hehehe ... someone asked if I put them there, or they somehow found their own way in there. My answer to that was that I'm afraid I haven't yet found a method of putting a cat anywhere, much less having them stay put! Kitties and carton boxes are made for each other - just throw them together and one will find their way into the other!
Thanks for stopping to comment, and for the fave too!
