That is a terrible thing to happen, I know. Many years ago, when our cats were free-ranging, we lost a few like that. We can never really get over that. It's much worse than losing a cat to death, as this way, there is no closure.
Can you not have another cat now? You sound like you have a lot of love to give, so it would be a pity if you don't have a cat to give it to!

I have a cat, three, Snowball (black cat), Sophie (tabby) and Gizmo(tuxedo) they're the kids of the cat that ran off, Daisey is only a year old and our cats are 3

hahaha...and that's precisely the thing 'dog-people' who don't appreciate cats say about cats! I guess because dogs are pack-animals and conform to the hierarchy in the pack, and 'bow' to the leader. Of course, I also know many dog-people who also appreciate cats.

Gizmo has that attitude XD I spoil him and he thinks he own us X3 he stroked my head once, he was laying above my head one morning and he just started petting me, didn't purr. I looked up and he had this look like he was thinking of ways to kill me O_O

My mother is a very keen gardener.
She made the mistake many years ago to plant cat nip OUTSIDE !
Several plants lasting only a couple of days.
It was damn funny to watch though

oohhh...what a shame, no video of the event! So, how many cats took part in the destruction?
Read something on the internet that only 2 out of 3 cats react to catnip, the very old and the very young aren't all that interested, and the exposure must be short each session or they can get immune to the effects. They seem to be right - I order organic catnip in little pouches for my cats and I notice the same results.

True, not all acts go mad on the stuff, some even just take one sniff and walk off looking for something better.
As for the destruction, over the two days or so, I'd GUESS between nine and tweleve. but, that's only of those we saw. We did hear several fights during the time as well.
The lack of video and photos s due to it being about fourteen years ago. Maybe fifteen.
One cat worked out how to get through the green house roof window, and settle down on plants, it also managed to find the 'remains' of what was pulled out of the garden. It was fun, might have to do it again, this time, lights, cameras, CAT-NIP !

I'm afraid I haven't yet found a method of putting a cat anywhere, much less having them stay put!
Kitties and carton boxes are made for each other - just throw them together and one will find their way into the other!
