Description Geralt is meeting a Xenomorph for the first time and struggling to find its weak points. This creature wasn't described in the Monstrum and doesn't make Geralt's talisman vibrate either.

Whelp I couldn't figure out how to send personal messages.

Still have any interest in starting that story?

GeraltΒ needs a special corrosion-resistant sword. Or he dies immediately.

I don't think so. Geralt defaults to his silver sword when fighting monsters and he always carries two. The silver would would be the less effective one here but it will cut and when he does this will show him the effects of the acid. He has experience fighting super strong and acid spitting monsters so now down to his more effective steel sword he can come up with a new strategy. He could try to kill the xenomorph with one blow of his blade if he hit a vital area and he could incorporate his other tools including signs, bombs, and a crossbow. This is all assuming the first splash of acid either misses him completely, doesn't injure him too badly or doesn't hit a vital area.

I agree with 837659. It will be a so interesting battle! Fifty-fifty, I don't know who will win.

I think if they just stumbled on each other I think they would kill each other. I would peg the Xenomorph's strength and fighting ability on par with a lower vampire something like an ekimara but the acid blood would be a secret weapon that kills Geralt as it dies. It's an ambush predator but Geralt's heightened senses would be able to pick it up. If the xenomorph successfully grapples Geralt like in this picture it could overpower him. For Geralt to win I think it all comes down to the first sign he uses. Yrden would slow down the Xeno long enough for him to come up with a way to slay it. Igni would frighten it away. Axii would probably work best. Passive Quen would save him from the first splash of acid and it would become a real fight. Xenomorphs are pretty unyealding so it could probably withstand Aard. Man there is more to consider here than I thought. This could require an entire death battle style examination. I say Geralt has the advantage but only by a very small margin. Unless it's a xenomorph from the game Alien: Isolation then Geralt doesn't have any way to penetrate it's exoskeleton even if he freezes it with Axii and hit it with whatever he wanted.

Thanks for your battle analysis. I was also thinking a lot about their strengths to come up with a good way of depicting them. The reason I decided to put the Xenomorph temporarily overpowering Geralt is to show that it is a monster unknown to him plus his medallion would not vibrate to warn him of it approaching him. At least I think it wouldn't count as a magical being like the other monsters in the Witcher world.

How could the Xenomorph end up in Geralt's world? I also gave thought to this and I concluded that the same way the other creatures ended up there during the Conjunction of the Spheres it could have easily brought in other lifeforms from distant galaxies. During Witcher III Ciri mentions visiting a place once where people were flying around in weird machines, which could have been our world or maybe the Engineers?

It's already Canon in witcher lore that Ciri and The Wild Hunt can travel between dimensional planes so either of them could hypothetically take a xenomorph with them if they visit a universe where they exist. I don't think Ciri would even by accident unless she brought someone with her who was impregnated by a facehugger. Assuming a Xenomorph can be frozen like in the first AvP movie I think the Wild Hunt would actually be able to capture some with their ice magic then maybe try to use them as shock troops but we all know how it ends when someone tries to weaponize these creatures. Β  Can Yautja travel between planes? Maybe one of their ships accidentally crash lands on the Witcher world with an egg. Or a ROB just hurls a meteorite carrying an egg.

You're planning on depicting them like in a fanfiction? I hope you do. I have zero talent for writing but a mind bursting with fanfiction ideas. I already gave some thought to how a crossover would work out. Can I tell you the story I had worked out in my head? I'm dying to tell someone.

Thanks for humoring me.
If it's a ROB it's probably Gunter O' Dimm. So the story begins with Geralt finding a notice board with a monster contract for a different village than the one he is in. The reason why the contract was so far away is because the town being menaced is in the middle of a forest too far away from civilization. Now the stage for the story is set in a place where Geralt has a chance to destroy the infestation before Xenos can destroy the world. He goes out into the boonies and notices how strange the forest looks with vegetation dying because of a mysterious resin everywhere making the place look like the inside of the space jockey ship or the hive from Aliens. He makes it to the village and finds a too small population of shell shocked survivors. The contract Geralt found was actually for a Leshen that had been killing people for logging earlier but was forgotten after the new threat emerged. The survivors tell Geralt everything they seen of how there were giant leathery flowers (read: eggs) which emerged scorpions that impregnated people with biting worms that birthed from the chest. Not too long after skeletal gorillas with cucumber like heads and a devil's spaded tail appeared and started tearing people apart. This has been going on for only two days. Geralt goes a'hunting now knowing about their strength and the acid blood so he stands a good chance against any one-on-one encounter. But while looking for their nest he finds the corpses of other monsters. He uses his detective skills and thinks the scorpions, worms, and long headed humanoids are connected due to the acid blood.
Β That is the general outline for how the story can begin. The story may have Ciri present or even be the main character instead. I'm imagining this with the AvP version of Xenomorphs so I'm open to the idea that Xenomorphs have attributes of monsters that have been facehugged like drowner xenos being short, stout and have webbed feet , hands, and a fin along their heads, Werewolf xenos have snouts and can regenerate that sort of thing. There may be a Predator present. I chose a remote location for the setting because I wanted a happy ending and to not mess with the entire witcher setting too much but if you don't care about the canon's status quo and want to play more fast and loose you could go balls out and in escalating order have the Xenomorphs kill important main characters, infest entire cities like novigrad, kill entire armies or even destroy the world.
Β I have little fantasies for scenes that may or may not make it into the story. If a Predator is present and decides not to hunt the Witcher the Predator notices the trophy head of a fearsome beast tied to his horse and has a feeling of admirable respect toward the fellow hunter. If it's a Xenomorph trophy the Predator bequeaths to him a corrosion proof sword. Depenting on how big you want the hive here is some suggestions for what happened. For a big group of Xenos or a Queen Geralt will need help. I already had an idea that the Leshen that was the start of thisΒ  has now stopped killing humans and is hunting xenos for destroying the forest. Old leshens can only be killed in a very specific way so even when xenos destroy it's body it just respawns later and tries again. He might coincidentally find other witchers after the same contract. He could be with Ciri or be hunting the same nest as a Predator.

Oh wow, man this is awesome! Great ideas and already well written! The only thing I would change is that people would probably refer to xenos as lizards, wyverns or dragons instead of gorillas. I might place the infestation into a place where only a teleport leads and there is no other way to get out. The xenos not knowing how to activate the device are stuck. It could be a cave like the one Keira Metz conjured in the game but bigger. It could be the plan of a mage to use the xenos as an army against Nilfgard or something similar. Of course by the time Geralt gets there things got out of hand and the Mage is long dead. It could also be the case that he is actually alive and just still preparing the army when Geralt arrives. The Mage could have control over the xenos by using some dark magic, similar to the Axii sign but much more powerful.

This would change things quite a lot and it would be shame for the Leshen that is sworn to kill the xenos. I really like that concept too.

If you like my version feel free to add to it or alter it. Let's see where this goes

Like I said I really can't write. My prose are diarrhea so if one of us writes it it's going to be you and ultimately that makes you the dungeon master of this campaign and you got veto power over my suggestions.

Β I never liked the idea of calling them "bugs" they just don't look like bugs to me at all. I would make the excuse that since their body has a strange shape they call them Xenomorphs anyway because that's what the word literally means. Dragons and wyverns already exist in the setting so I don't think people would call them that. I admit gorilla isn't probable either because the setting emulates medieval Europe where people may not recognize one but usually Xenomorphs are depicted with very long arms and hunched over or on all fours.

Β If it is outright impossible for the xenos to escape the other side of the portal than people could just decide not to go in there and there would be no conflict and if people do go in there the stakes are only as high as lives of those people. If you use that idea I suggest adding a time limit race against the clock plot where if the conflict is not resolved by the end of the story the aliens can escape out into the wild like they just eventually dig their way out eventually if they can't stop them before the one sided portal closes. Fantasy: The Queen chases Geralt out of the portal which closes on her while going through and she dies. Geralt considers reevaluating his stance on Portals.

I read somewhere that Character development is the king of a good story or something like that. Can't remember how it was really worded but you get the idea, personality growth is important. What should Geralt's character arc be? He is already a well rounded well adjusted guy so it's hard to think of a personal flaw he has to overcome. My current idea is that monster exterminating is becoming so routine that he might be becoming complacent and overconfident. Now he finds a creature so outside of context of his usual contracts that he almost gets killed. His wallet had been empty for so long that he took a contract for a leshen and when things seemed to be going as normal suddenly he discovers a new monster type that no witcher has ever faced before so he has no encyclopedia of strategies or established methods to rely on. He soon discovers the new monsters are explosive breeders and he has to destroy them payment or no because they have the potential to wipe out humanity.

Oh yeah, one of the ways that I imagined the whole leshen thing in the beginning of the story going down would be that he kills it before finding the village and when he goes to collect his pay he finds that he actually killed the best defense the community had. After the notice was put up that was when they were besieged by xenos and since then they had felt a certain kinship with the old monster after finding dead facehuggers and xenos caught in gnarled roots. Whoops. Nice job breaking it hero.

Having a mage villian would make sense but I don't think he is necessary. If you could come up with some cool scenes like him petting a creature of any stage in the life cycle then I might like him. In the AvP movie and game the Queen has psychic powers to communicate and send orders to her children and in the directer's cut of Alien 3 the runner could make someone open the vault it was in. They come from a sci-fi setting and not a magic fantasy one so I'm not sure what magic mind control's potential is, could be strong or weak but I say he should try to control them through the Queen. Fantasy: Someone discovers that the Xenomorph Queen has been controlling the sorcerer the whole time.

Wow this is getting long. We should continue this conversation in pms instead of filling up this comments section. Before I switch I just want to mention I think a Geralt who knows how to fight Xenos would only be able to fight 2 at the same time max. To take on a hive he would have to outmaneuver them in such a way that he is able to fight them one at a time by sneeking and have at least one acid proof sword and I can't think of a way for him to kill a queen. I think Ciri would be able to take a whole hive and Queen on in open combat and win though.

Oh yeah, one more fantasy. Geralt finds a troll who attempted to eat a Xenomorph corpse and they complain about how it's too spicy when it's fresh.
