This has got to be my favourite ship involving two MLP characters. Like, it's super adorbs
I see a lot of 'older spike' art with him having wings. To me that just doesn't make sense unless he got the Alicorn treatment like Twilight

This is adorable, also i agree spike with wings seemes wierd. I have always seen spike as a drake (a dragon with no wings, also they are know to be more docile then thier winged brothers)

That could be one of the reasons (besides being raised by ponies) he couldn't bond with that flock of dragons. He wasn't even the same species of dragon as they were.

I'm glad there are a few other people who don't fully approve of giving Spike wings when he's aged up. He's simply a species of dragon that doesn't grow them, simple as that.
