I think this position is a bit unpractical to learn flying. It looks like twi is restricted in her wing-movement.
But it looks really cute so I'll just ignore that

Maybe Twilight fell and Dash just caught her, it's what it looks like to me. Although, Twi barely has mobility in her wings, I think there's many scenarios to go with it, based off of the expression on their faces.
It's still a really cute drawing though, isn't it?
