Description For who wished Harry protecting Hermione... I think, she wanted them looking like 17years old, but unfortunately I didn't get them like that. I hope, you like them anyway.

Actually, I did want draw her other request, the HBP scene in which Malfoy observes Harry and Hermione in the library. But yesterday my Muse told me to instantly stop with whatever I was doing to draw this. I'm glad I did, since I'm rather fond of the outcome. It's likely to be my fastest drawing so far... not that it didn't cost me my whole sunday, but that's fast for me! I'm probably still going to do the library scene, but not too soon, since I've still a lot requests from other people to do first.

***

I've drawn quite a lot of H/Hr pics lately... OK, I had a reason for the first two and this one is a request. But if it bothers any R/Hr-Shipper.... just request an R/Hr shippy pic

I was laughing about this one too! Some people are just scary...
But there is something wrong with book 7 too... for HBP JKR said that some people would hate it. For DH she has announced that some people will loathe it... I don't think that it concerns me, because I just want to read whatever that idea was she had in the train long ago and with HBP she completely convinced me from her writer talent. But I'm scared anyway. I'm not ever really happy that the books is coming so soon... what if Harry or Draco dies...

The one thing I wonder about is... why is Jo so short? Just this note on her site that the book is finished, nothing about her beeing happy or sad or whatever, no riddle... OK, maybe I understand her a litte... sometimes, when I worked very, very long on something and then it is finished I'm completely out of words. Bit still, it's strange.

Jo is a very secretive person...and I also think that now the time as come for her to privately ponder on the series that brought her fame and wealth and happiness. This is the end of something amazing, something she'll miss and she knows the world will too. All the excitment for book releases and new things....this is it, there is nothing more after this. That has to be hitting Jo real hard right now, really hard.
She did something for the world that so few have managed to do...she's gotten not only children, but adults to read again....to actually pick up books and read....and enjoy it then and to want to continue to read. She's given a gift to the world that no one imagined was possible in this day and age. She's a hero in her own right.

Now is the time for her and the world to sit back and enjoy one last big adventure, because after this, there is no more Harry Potter. Jo is feeling this more strongly than anyone and now she is taking the time to be alone and cope with what is to come. She's dealing with the finale of her baby, her most prized undertaking and something she drained her heart and soul into for a decade.

Dunno, but I was never disapointed from the movies. I never wanted to see the books 1:1 on screen! I love the dialogues in the books, but on screen they would be very boring. I watch the movies for the action which is much cooler on screen than in the books. And on another level they're also interesting for the interpretation of the books because they're somewhat summaries...

sororitysheep In reply to periwinkle-blue [2007-02-03 19:32:44 +0000 UTC]

Um, I guess the pose just always struck me as extremely shippy, even/especially in the movie... but then I was also surprised in the books when Hermione started kissing people on the cheek... it always struck me as a little bold for her.

But then I've also noticed a tendency for people to comment on some of my works as shippy... I think someone posted on a pic that happened to have either Ron or Harry with Hermione in it and comment about the fabulous shippy-ness in it... when I hadn't intended any.

Hmmm. I guess we all just apply our perceptions to the image. Even when, in my case, they're perceptions that I don't particularly care for.

This is something that I think I'll be thinking about quite a bit now...

"He has that perfect alert, wiry, slightly awkward dishevelnment of a young hawk or eagle that always seems to be conjured by Rowling's descriptions."

I don't know where Rowling describes him like that, but she must really "conjure" this picture somehow, because it's exactly this picture I have in my head! Not this nice, cute little boy which seems to be the standard picture a lot of people have from Harry...

I also like the picture of a hippogriff, especially Buckbeak: scary, difficult, stubborn, sometimes a bit awkward... but especially because you have to approach him and Harry on the same way: not arrogant and not servile

I haven't made bad experiences with people on DA. There are some strange or even scary people, but no one who really drove me crazy... not yet.
What I can't say from FA...

And lately, I've seen some scary people on portkey. I've uploaded there my H/Hr pics (technically, they're canon scenes, but they're shippy enough) what was an interesting experience, because I never thought that there are so many Harmonians around. I've got over night at about 200 views and they also recced my drawing on other pages what is very nice. But when I uploaded this drawing, I got two comments in some sort of illegible internet slang which seemed to mean "H/Hr will happen in book 7". I mean, occasionaly I write under a drawing as well that I like the drawn ship (but I never write that I don't like it), but this definitely scared me...

yeah i like hermiones hair in poa, her hair looked better in that one than all the others put together.

YEAH! OMG, i've got to think of something now.

ermm...

could you draw the scene where hermione and everyone is sitting in the hospital wing after ron gets poisoned, the part where he says er-mi-knee so something like that.

i was going to ask you to draw where hermione sees ron kissing lavender but WAY too many people have drawn that scene anyway.

ok, so i've had a LONG time to think about this (btw sorry it took so long) so could you draw that scene i asked you for (the scene where ron is in the hospital wing after getting poisoned) but without the extra characters, you know just ron and hermione. i know that doesn't happen in the book but i suppose it is canon, she obviously went to visit him at some point while he was poisoned. if this is too non-canon then just tell me, i think i'm going a bit too far by asking this anyway so just tell me if you can't do it .

I always can try... challenges are a good thing! But as I said, it's difficult and I've 9 requests and I tend to delay difficult things... but I want to be finished with all of them 'till July, because I want to be free to illustrate DH.

I was thinking about it yesterday... I have to see the whole scene in my mind before I start to draw it or I'll never succeed! It would be similar to this old drawing of Draco and Snape, but with other expressions: [link]

Your request is something that I call "between the lines of canon." I'm pretty sure that it is mentioned in HBP that Hermione visited Ron several times. That means that it definitely happened--just like Ginny bat bogey hexed Malfoy--but it's not described how, so I'm free in the interpretation. What makes it difficult again, because I had to seriously think about how R/Hr looks like in my mind. Every ship has a certain feeling and this often works just for this one ship. If I would draw Hermione visiting Harry in the hospital wing it wouldn't look like Hermione visiting Ron because there is a hudge difference in their interactions.

Ron and Hermione are not together in the end of HBP. The hospital scene is 3 or 4 month earlier. Till the end of the book H/G started and finished. Ron and Hermione would have had every time to hook up, especially because Harry was so obsessed snogging Ginny that he seemed hardly addressable... If I want to stay true to canon or better, my interpretation of it, I can't draw Ron and Hermione to close in that scene!

I think, that the keyword is "embarassed". Hermione sitting on a chair beside Ron's bed, both looking in different direction because they don't know what to talk about. A bit like in the Shrieking Shack scene of the third movie. I could also draw Hermione holding a present for Ron, his favourite sweets (have to look them up...)

Does this go along with your interpretation? I hope... because I think that your request is very interesting after all, really challenging. Maybe I don't delay it too much after all

Indiewikkan In reply to periwinkle-blue [2007-02-12 12:54:09 +0000 UTC]

i like the snape and draco picture, for some reason i don't think i've seen it before, i must have looked through your gallery about three times already as well. i do that a lot when i see one of your pictures for some reason (no offense btw).

i like the embarassed idea too, it seems fitting after the long time they didn't talk and it was probably obvious to each why they didn't so that would probably be really uncomfortable not knowing what the others going to say or think after that period of time and the fact that he's still got a girlfriend so they can't really say what each other thinks in a way because it would be like them both having to accept they can't be together and moving on and they wouldn't want that (if that makes sense).

i wouldn't want them to close, it would contradict your ship and i wouldn't ask you to do that.

ps. take as long as you want on it i don't mind, it took me long enough to get back to you with the request

That's great... we can see it exactly the same way

It's supposed to be R/Hr... and I want to draw R/Hr... I don't like drawings with a requested pairing and the real ship of the artists in the background. Things like R/Hr + jealous!Harry or H/Hr and the artist comments beyond the drawing that she most definitely doesn't ship H/Hr...

And... I tried something, but I didn't come far. The compositon was boring. Instead I succeed with a sketch from the Bloody Baron I'll try it later again...

i dislike stuff like that too, there's not much point in it unless your a person that's into the triangle thing, your not making friends or enemies and your not particularly drawing something you want to draw either so i don't see much point (not that i've got anything against people that do do that )

Duh... I'm not sure if I understand you now

Do you speak in general or in my case? I'd like to draw H/Hr/R once (the trio hug from PoA for example). But I think that it's not OK when I transform your request into a H/Hr/R drawing or if I draw R/Hr and write beyond: "I don't like R/Hr!" It's offending! I don't draw something, if I can't adhere to it.

For that reason, I'm never going to draw H/G for a H/G shipper. But I'm not sooooo against R/Hr... I've re-listened to the CoS audiobook and understand quite well why people ship R/Hr. There are cute scenes between the two!

I didn't succeed the first time, but that's normal. I need several attempts when I draw scenes. I need to work out the right perspective first.

oh, just in general and it was just my point of view, for some people it's fun and they like it even if it's not there ship but I wouldn't draw something like that because i wouldn't be interested in it, get me now . i read through my comment again and it didn't make sense to me, so i'm sorry about that

OH! wait i get what your saying now! (sorry it took me a couple of times reading it through)

yeah, to be honest i would find it offending if i asked for something they agree to draw it then twist it so it suits them or write something underneath like that, i would be like 'why did you draw it for then!'
unless they told me they were going to do that and asked if i minded, then i wouldn't mind

I would probably draw a harry/ginny shipper as that is what my sister (kirsty) ships and i understand why people like it but i probably wouldn't draw h/hr for some reason, probably the brother/sister thing i see between them (no offense, i would probably draw something like your doing for me though)
