Tada~

Here we have one of my TwiPest twins discovering her magical abilities
Her parents are a unicorn and alicorn, her cousins are alicorns and a pegasus, her grandparents and uncle are unicorns, and her twin brother is an alicorn. So safe to say that Nautical Dawn was severely insecure about being born an earth pony, and grew to absolutely hate magic and harbor a spiteful envy for her brother Civil Dawn (Civ).

I think I've written about this stuff before, so I'll kinda summarize~
Even though Civ was born an alicorn, he actually has super weak magic and can barely hold up one thing at a time (he hides this from everybody, only a couple ponies have figured it out, and he keeps them scared enough to keep quiet. Did I mention he kinda sucks?).
Surprisingly though, even though she is an earth pony (with some pegasus traits, but that's besides the point lol) Nautical has the power of an alicorn. Now as the show established (and as is true in my lil universe) all ponies have magic, the means of use and relevance are just tailored differently to each pony species. So Nautical has it all, but just needs to find a way to get to it, and it takes a WHILE for her to even figure out she has it. With the help of Daybeam (my Sunburst x Zecora kiddo) she is able to access her magic, and one day (as seen above) she is finally able to break through and release it.
So in one terrifying snap like a lightning strike, Nautical's magic flooded to life, and now after the shock, fear, and joy die down, she'll get to work on taming it~
All with Daybeam by her side~
