Yep! After I got the harp from Zelda, I just beat some giant scaly monster and Groose is mopping about being useless.

Meh, I'm sure I'll manage. So far from experience with Zelda games, out of all the the water temple levels the one from Twilight Princess is the one that's given me the most trouble. (I just beat the game FINALLY!)

oh lord lord lord.. twilights water temple, wasn't hard replaying it. FIRST TIME THOUGH SIGN ME UP TO THE RAGE TRAIN. and I never got past the twilight temple never could figure out where to go next

Yeah, first time playing it was a REAL PAIN!! But yeah, it's not so bad playing it a second time. I didn't have too much trouble with the Twilight temple.

I just beat the water temple in Skyward Sword. I didn't have too much trouble with it. I had more fun with that temple compared to other water temples.
As for your question. If you meant the part in the Palace of Twilight, then what you do after you've placed both of the Sols where they need to be, your sword should have been filledΒ with a golden light. If everything was done correctly, then youΒ walk up to where the waterfall of black fog is and there will be a few of those giant shadow birds (I forget what they're called). Defeat them and then stand on the red embedding on the floor. After that you perform a spin attack and the black fog will temporarily vanish. Then quickly jump across the gap and there will be a door on the other side.
Haha, the first time I was being chased by those hand things after getting one of the Sols, it scared the crap outta me! I was like *OH CRAP OH CRAP!!* Lol, if you get stuck again or have anymore questions just ask and I'll help you out.

Now I will say that I did that with TLoZ Ocarina of Time. I have the original for the N64, but I bought the 3DS version so that I could play it on the go.
