Description I knew many people
Some befriended me and some scorned me.
To the friends I returned friendship,
To the scorners I returned scorns.
I tried to befriend everyone.
On some I succeeded and others I failed.
My failures didn’t bother me much.
I figured that if they didn’t want to be my friend,
I would probably be better off without them.
I was kind to all to some extent,
But if the act wasn’t accepted or returned,
I would be content with that.
For it does not matter to me
How they chose to live their lives,
It was how I lived my life
That was truly important.

hmm I can relate wonderfully to that. Very simple and eloquent. No one really knows how life should be lived. We can only do our best and do what works for us.

Thanks for the comment. What gets me sometimes is that I wrote that in 9th grade, close to 7 years ago. How many 14-year-olds actually think like that?
