This problem can easily be sovled, actually:
Step 1: Have Sunset Shimmer use all the fantastical elements of Equestria in a fantasy novel series, so she becomes famous and rich.
Step 2: Using her new wealth, Sunset buys various items that can easily be mass-produced in the Human World, but are rare in Equestria.
Step 3: Get these items through the portal and sell them at much higher prizes.

Well, I can't speak for other bronies; but since it's a MONARCHY, it must have a Charter Of Rights that's like that of The Commonwealth. It must also have Common Law.

And you know, this makes a lot of sense. Saffron and Coriander couldn't have paid for all of this anymore, their restaurant was in financial trouble already anyway.
