Description This is die Frauenkirche in Dresden. The full name is "Church of Our Lady, Mother of Christ" well, the translation. It's a very long title, so it's shortened to Frauenkirche, or Church of Our Lady.

The dark stones on the side of the church are the original pieces from the church. Dresden was bombed to hell in the second world war and the church was pretty much destroyed, but some of the stones were recovered and used to rebuild.

I've always seen this church in pictures and read about it in travel guides and such - now I just need to finally go there myself! You have convinced me

Oh yes, Dresden is beautiful. I'm glad I inspired you to go there. A little ways away from the church is a statue of Martin Luther, so check that out as well.

I will definitely keep that bit about the statue in mind if and when I get the chance to go there

Yeah, and Martin Luther is right on the other side of the court yard. You can't miss him.
