Description
So yes, being a Sunset Shimmer Fan, I was really excited about Forgotten Friendship and I will say it did NOT disappoint. I really got invested in it at a time where I think Equestria Girls was starting to wain. So for whatever I reason I got this idea in my head last friday and whipped it up over the weekend, skipping a lot of meals and sleep. Plus I really wanted to try drawing my Sunset Shimmer style with a different face, one that wasn't confident or happy.Check out my other Sunset Shimmer Fanwork:

Imagine if you were once a school bully, mean and cruel to everyone and then one day had a change of heart. Despite your best efforts, everyone hates and despises you and you have no one to blame but yourself. Yet you have 6 friends who despite peer pressure give you a chance and become the only people who acknowledge you in a world that hates and despises you for past actions. Then one day you find they have completely forgotten about you and treat you like everyone else, you don’t think that’s depressing?

It is. It is extremely depressing. Trust me. It makes me want to appreciate Sunset Shimmer more than anything.

I know its a special, and if did a great job with the story and everything... but I find it very hard to believe that none of the human main six even questioned the gaps in their memories. Seriously, if they remember pony Twilight bringing them together, then surely they had to have remembered that they promised her to look after Sunset.

But remember, Wallflower erased only the "good" memories of Sunset Shimmer, not the bad. Remember, Twilight never actually told them to be friends with Sunset (at least on screen). Merely to keep an eye on her. Their friendship probably formed after Twilight had left and Sunset made an effort to change.
Therefore the girls probably remembered they would keep an eye on Sunset Shimmer, but didn't actually remember their friendship. Quite possibly their friendship formed on their own separate from the promise they made, those were merely the memories they forgot.

They how would they remember how they regrouped in the storage room the Siren looked them in when they were fighting amongst themselves and pony Twilight was having a break down in the corner? Wouldn't human Twilight question who talked her down after getting corrupted at the Friendship Games? Or explain how they learned to actually control the magic they discovered at camp?
Good memories erased or not, I would have at least been curious.

I'm gonna go with, learning that's its not enough to just "not be mean," making the ultimate sacrifice for her friends, or finally making amends with Princess Celestia after all these years

the special was okay, towards the ending that's where it got better.

I saw it too...and I think we FINALLY have an EqG installment I'd HONESTLY declare as BOTH a genuine favorite AND worth a ten. Since many pony episodes have an easier time getting this, but EqG struggled, I think Forgotten Friendship FINALLY did EqG proud enough I'd give the EqG series overall its first ten-rating. Your thoughts on that?

I thought it was wonderful. I didn’t think it broke the equestria girls mold, it still harbors an obvious villain who ultimately apologizes and is forgiven. I did like Wallflowers reform much more than Juniper, at least wallflower I could sympathize with a little. Sunsets role is spot on, going back to what made her a great character as well as giving her something new to learn. Trixie is great and I like the chemistry she has with Sunset and I adored Sunset finally make ammends with Celestia. My one complaint, is why is it not on DVD😁.

Forgotten Friendship only RECENTLY came out, so give it time for a home release. Also, if you wait for Hasbro to put this on their channel, the original format they had Forgotten Friendship in contains a full six extra minutes of scenes not on the TV release. Have a bit of patience in this case and you WILL get more bang for your buck.

Well there's also another special on the way, I'm sure when that comes out they will release both. It's just the DVD for movie magic went up for preorder shortly before it officially aired. Till it comes out, I'm gonna be roaming amazon, like a Alien hunting it's prey.
