The lore is in it's infancy at the moment, but here's the rundown; following the almost-fall of the United States, the role of 'world police' is lost, and thusly, war crimes can be committed by people outside of the US, especially since they have an excuse in the form of a crumbling world economy. Spreading out from all over, countries go to war, especially after Europe develops an economic isolation policy-- though is still welcoming of all peoples to an extent. Europe has refused to intervene in world affairs for their own safety, even developing a Defense Force to prevent blowback from conflict in Africa; which has begun to spiral out of control into a series of warlord states from the ~2050s onwards. Close to 40 years later, conflict at least in southern africa finally begins to slow, and former warlord states -now-republics quickly break down and new progressive governments spearhead developments, later re-districted into near-mono-ethnic states, all in a formulated economic commonwealth, which would gradually expand into the boundaries of what is now the Azanian Economic Collective, which has since begun to work closely with the United States (which has since recovered from a Second Civil War, and has since rebranded itself as the Federal States of America) and the European Union to seek economic growth. Going into the 2110s, the Azanian Federation has become a powerful influence, and a mediator for the great powers to their north; the SKE and Guinea.
