arise, fair phoenix.ascend into the morning light.
arise from funeral pyres and
overcome the shadows cast by
dancing flames.
rise into the sky at last.
tethered by the night,
held back by specters
as they cast your body
into the conflagration,
death awaiting you within.
they try to suffocate the waking dreamer,
but dreams were not meant to be subdued.
rise into the sky at last.
you who soar with eagles,
who dance with spirits,
and who speak with angels.
you who paint pictures to stir
the jaded into life.
the world cannot hold you hostage.
the jealous cannot tame you.
rise into the sky at last.
