Description a moment in time,
just a heartbeat;
the world freezes
and all is quiet.
the space between
one pulse and the next,
a line on the monitor
before the next arc.

a bead of sweat
running downward;
a wisp of breath exhaled.
just a heartbeat,
enough time for time
to mean nothing at all.

a tension in
your shoulders;
a shiver up
your spine.
a tremor and
a nightmare
within the span
of moments.

a shadow comes
upon you;
a specter
overwhelms you.
within an eye
blinking
your skin prickles,
then it caves.

within two
pinpoint punctures;
within two
little holes.
your lifeblood
ebbing from you.
your soul
gives up the ghost.

just a heartbeat,
the span between
one pulse and the next.

that is how long
it takes for you
to realize
you've breathed
your last.

That moment where there heart beats so much faster than ever before trying to hold on to life, such an exhilarating feeling to take such adrenaline fueled sustenance. You captured the moment perfectly I love it.

That felt like time was suspended or had an elastic attached to it. Well written.

on, nice! The beat/rhythm seems to follow that of a heart beat, in a way.
I like the flow and the imagery you used. Lovely words.

The sinking of teeth is like the forging of words. A one Time Affair, and if the sensation is to be chased, the reward can be addictive.
