Description
Summer in Arizona means chasing the monsoons all over the place. I haven't chased them as much as I should be, and will hopefully be doing so during the rest of the summer. This was from one of my more recent chases to catch the storms. A fellow photographer and I had made a quick decision to head north to Prescott as thats where the storms were moving to. We knew exactly where we wanted to be (although probably not the best place if there had been crazy lightning) and headed to Watson Lake. By the time we arrived at the lake, the storm had already moved far ahead of us and we could see the giant cloud structure as it kept pushing north. There were still clouds in the sky, so we stuck it out and I saw this long stretch of granite boulders (otherwise known as the dells here) and made my way out to it. When I got to a certain point I noticed the moon rising behind the clouds, and these beautiful rays of light began to emanate from the distant cloud structure. It was one of the most unique displays of light I have seen and created an almost perfect X in the composition. The colors and tree at the end of the rocks didn't hurt either. I felt as if I had captured something special, and after sharing it with others on various sites, many had felt the same way. Now I am sharing it here.Watson Lake- Arizona.

It is a great achieved landscape. Very poetic, and the rendu (post process I guess) is brilliant.

I love the bright yellow/pink from the cloud's reflection peeping through the little tree. Just lovely!
