Description
I'm pretty happy with the model. the render was set up and completed in about 5 minutes, so I'm not too concerned with the poor lighting or lack of anti-aliasing. just over 5k polys (10k tris), no textures, modeled and rendered (badly) in maya 4.Related content

Very clean looking model. Look forward to seeing the finished, rendered one that your mate is doing.

the renders took about 3 minutes apiece. the rims..well, the rims don't exist yet. I'm doing the rough model and another guy is doing all the finish work. this is about as far as i want to take this, detail wise. thanks for the comment by the way

...it's alias-wavefront maya. it's a high-end 3d program. i was just using the internal renderer, rather than a plugin like brazil or mental ray. and three minutes was for these specific renders, which have low ray-tracing quality and obviously low-anti-aliasing quality. maya's renderer lacks complex lighting effects such as radiosity, which means the renders never look particularly good, but on the plus side they don't take too long to churn out.

agreed, definatyl agreed, maya is nice but very slow *sigh* oh and i costs a fortune...
i like blender but then again im not wuite into heavy modelling and wouldnt spend much money on a nice program like maya
