Our neighbors' house barge, both on land and in the water, where we're both usually found. A halcyon is a mythical bird identified with the kingfisher, which is held in ancient legend to nest at sea, about the time of the winter solstice. Allegedly, it could calm the ocean waves. It failed that test during Superstorm Sandy.
