Description This waterfall is, at 260 feet, the highest two-tiered waterfall in New York State. The upper drop is 180 feet and the lower one is 80 feet. When I re-visited Kaaterskill, two years ago this coming June, it was my first return there in about 25 years. It's lost none of its splendor through the years. While I did not hike the trail that passes behind the waterfall on that visit, I did last summer. It's a spectacular vista, although the hike behind the falls can be pretty dangerous - especially in wet weather!
