Captured on a beautiful Saturday afternoon on October 20th of last year, during what would turn out to be my last ride on my Boston Whaler. It was my first boat, but hopefully she won't be my last.
This new drawbridge is on Wantagh State Parkway, as it leads to Jones Beach State Park; I miss being able to visit it by water, drive over it on our way to the beach and looking at it from our back deck - all thanks to Superstorm Sandy. She sure wasn't "super" for me. A postscript to this picture: A few months ago, the architectural engineering firm of B. Thayer Associates in Woodbury, NY got in touch with me about purchasing the rights to use this and another photo for their brochures.
