Description
Concept of sci-fi rifle. This one is meant to be pair to my previous work. DAEVA. ( ).Both are based on same principle. Usual profile with few added extra non-crazy features pushing it into future. Design shouldn't be from far future but believable like from tomorrow.
Work is made in 3ds max. Rendering engine is V-ray.

My only beef is maybe the mag should wedge out to be thicker on the distal end. Otherwise rifle is *very* fine!

This looks very much like a modified SCAR. As for critiques, I think a far as modelling goes, you are great! You wield 3ds max like a master. As far as the design itself goes, I would say for a sci-fi rifle, especially one based in realism as yours is, it's a major mistake not to go with a bullpup design. When you look at the landscape of modern weaponry, I think it's easy to see the way things are going, and that's towards making bullpup the standard design. More and more countires are adopting a bullpup as their main assault rifle, and some new designs that are respected by all are coming out, such as IWI's Tavor. The major issue people had with the Tavor design were a few odd designs for the shell ejection, and "squishy" triggers, both of which have been mostly fixed. I think within the next 20 years we are going to see a massive growth in bullpups being used by armies around the world (and there are already quite a few that do).

Hi. tnx. mostly I took profle from masada rifle. thats why i named it madasa. just exnchanged S for D. From engineering point i think that bullpup is future. it works better in close space. and since any conflicts is going to be in towns this feature will grows in inportance.... its just matter of time in my opinion.

This makes me think of a step between Star Trek and today. Nice concept for a sci-fi weapon.

The star trek element comes from the fact that I assume it is some kind of energy weapon based on the warning labels and the end of the barrel reminding me of the Star Trek Phaser rifles. You did design a perfectly plausible modern day weapon (more like near-future weapon)
