Description Concept of futuristic energy gun for fictional sci-fi scenario. Design is done in unusual way and in very minimalist style. Gun is simple with no extra parts all over surface. Surface itself has plain silhouette.

Once person takes it into hand, gun automatically connects to person's computer. If authorisation procedure succeed then gun's system links to person HUD and activates 3d hologram projection all over the body displaying all controls, switches, battery and other information. There is only one mechanical switch on the body for releasing battery magazine.

I did job in 3ds max and rendering engine is V-ray. Model is highpoly. Colorization is in "ferrari" style.

There are 2 large pictures:

Pulsar main:   Pulsar - main

Pulsar secondary: Pulsar - secondary

So what do you think do you like it or not.?  Tnx for comments if any.

Very nice design, I think it is going to be "barrel" or "emitter" heavy due to the length and the fact it seems designed for a single hand, probably needs a second hand support somewhere for stability.

hi. txn you mate but it is suppose to be hold by two hand there are those steel parts below front mask for better grip...

Cool. I wasn't sure if those were for grip or some kind of heat-radiators.

I love the design and color, the only thing that seems a bit off kilter is the grip. I'd go with something more along the lines of what you'd see on some expensive power tools. Actually, getting rid of the grip altogether, you could easily turn this into some very high tech kind of survey tool, or laser telescope kinda thing. all it would need is an attachment point for a telescopic tripod, and a flip out viewfinder screen.

OK...I'm shutting up now.

As a energy rifle I think it is a fail, as an energy pistol it succeeds, though it looks quite heavy.
Rifles have a stock because it offers an additional point of contact and stability.  A pistol has one (or two depending on the grip) points of stability, the hands.  Adding a third point of stability, the shoulder improves the control of the weapon.
A pistol would be tricky (high skilled shooter) to hit a target in the 100 yard range (30 meter range, rough estimate), adding a stock greatly improves the accuracy and precision of the shooter.

It needs a stock (to minimalist in my opinion)... unless you are going for a Japanese robot weapon appearance.

hi. tnx was trying for different look. it is too large and heavy for just to be a pistol....

weabeasties In reply to ??? [2015-01-02 04:24:40 +0000 UTC]

A suggestion for weight, bring the bottom of the grip in red to make a cuff under wrist and forearm to support the wrist and still great fluid lines

Love the concept.  New and out of the box.  Incredible.  Love to see the armor of the person wearing it.  No power armor just a regular armor.  If it for combat then the armor must be used in different environments.  Still it will look great.  Because the gun looks fantastic.

Looks like the kind of gun Adam Warren's Dirty pair would use, something with it's own inertial field dampers and artificial gravity generators so it doesn't matter it has no stock or is unbalanced

Looks very smooth and has a great shape I do agree with the thing about it not having a stock, and from the thumbnail I first thought that it was a lighter, or a vacuum cleaner
