Final Vader Redesign. Spent the most time on this one.Done in PS3 mostly. Wacom Cintiq.

I like the armor redesign, but I think you should have left him with the classic helmet. So much of Vader's look was the amazing silhouette, and by changing the helmet, you lost that.

Yea, I was a little torn about the helmet. I wanted to keep some touches of the original design, and the thing that always stood out to me about Vader was his mouth piece. So I tried to keep a basic semblance of that, while making the rest of him more streamline and robotic looking. People always say that Vader is so robotic, but I never really saw it, only heard it through his voice. I never knew from the original movies that most of his limbs were robotic. Obi Wan mentions that he's "more machine than man" at one point, but I thought it would be cool to really show the pain and destruction this guy has caused to his body through his actions.

I've never actually played Crisis and that character wasn't really an influence in the design. I actually did this right after playing Deus Ex: Modern Revolution, or whatever it was called. So a lot of his mechanical parts are based on that.

Darth Vader is simply iconic, one of the most effective evil-guy archetipe of every time.
Darth Vader have all that a bad-one must have. He's scary and noble at the same time.
I have see a lot of Vader redesign but your have impressed me.
So modern, so extreme but so credible at the same time.
The only thing that I miss in your design is the helmet.

Thanks. Yea, the helmet is very iconic but functionally unnecessary. He does seem less intimidating without it though.
