Description I met this lady on the road and gave her a ride to her home in Dumfries, Cat Island. (It's quite safe to hitch a ride on the island, there's no public transportation and not every one's got a car.) Her name is Miriam Gaiter-Webb and she was born in Cat Island, not in the hospital in Nassau like most island babies nowadays.

It's quite normal to pick up people hitching a ride here, there isn't any public transportation so people who don't have a car have little choice. I've actually given this lady a ride three times. I wouldn't do the same thing in Nassau though.
