Thank you, most definitely yes, with shutter speeds of half a second or more in order to capture movement of the waves, a tripod is a must.

yeah indeed to capture the movement of waves it is necessary, but is there anyway to make an hdr using one raw? cheers

You can get an HDR effect using one raw file but it would not technically be true HDR. However it will produce an HDR like image. The idea is to process say three images from the same raw file but processed like bracketed exposures. Check out this link: www.lightstalking.com/create-h…
