Lana,Shana, and a whole host of others were rip offs of Sheena, who was the most successful stand-alone jungle queen other than Nyoka, who had a comic and several serial-type films to her credit..Sheena countered Nyoka's successes in the 1950s with a successful T.V.show,as well as more comic books..Before all of these jungle queens there was Jane,Tarzan's galpal, but Jane always played second banana to Tarzan...
Jungle Comics was a successful comic of the late '40s and early '50s,It featured both stand-alone jungle queens as well as second stringers whose only real purpose was to be rescued by the Tarzan-like jungle lord..Most of these feature covers either with WIP themes or assertive,in charge female jungle warriors..
..Google up"Jungle Comics" images and see for yourself...
Most can be had on Ebay, but they are not cheap...
