Thanks for the positive comment but I am not particularly proud of this one as the shadows are not quite right . Still it's a start if nothing else.

Mm it's hard to get them all in the right direction with the light source...but yeah any practice is good!

You bet plus working in greyscale to start off with can be really beneficial. At least that is what Matt Kohr says anyway.

Good advice and I shall follow it .
Ok well just get them down on paper and do some thumbnail sketches to see what perspective and composition works best, should be awesome.

Look up this guy called, James Gurney. He created Dinotopia and the environments there were awesome, he also has a book on amazon called, Colour and Light: a guide for the realist painter.

Yea he is and he is a natural media person as well which is great! I really do like looking at the exposé traditional artists in imagine fx though they only ever feature two at a time.

I know, some of the oil and watercolour painters they feature are something else, really. I love watercolour pencils so any art in that medium is ok in my books . What mediums do you like most?

Well I am very much into watercolour pencils as they have more controll but just good old watercolour is nice but at the moment oils are good for me . I got my airbrush and air compressor delivered today so that will come in handy for traditional art
.

Nice one mate, I like the very stylized approach to this piece. Really like it, looks like it could be a potential background for an animated cartoon.

Thank you that means a lot. Yep I did think abut it as an animation background when competed.

Yes though you would have to decide what the character would do and where in the scene like if they coming towards you or going away, walking or running and such.
