EDIT: Wow! 100 favourites? How the hell did this happen when I just quickly scratched down some doodles on a paper and shaded them? @_@I feel like celebrating and yet not copying Banished Prince's +100 traditions so I'll think about it ....
I can give a million examples on why Zuko should never be put in a situation where him telling a lie is vital... things as "YES we're travellers!" and "We were part of... this... travelling... circus" are just a few of them. It amused me in the latest episode when Azula asks him if Aang is still alive and he takes so much time to be quiet and have a flashback, turning his head dramatically to think... no wonder Azula's the one in control.

Actually I do. I know the basics, but I have a problem with layers because I want to be able to do backgrounds - but when I colour something, then the lines from 1st layer (say I colour on the 2nd) disappear if I use transpant colours, they get kind of dodgy and ugly .... its kinda hard to explain I could try to do a screencap showing you what I mean

(I'm basing this upon Photoshop 7; I don't think those particular settings look different in other versions, but I could be wrong)

Oooh - just thought of a possibility! Photoshop will, by default, automatically select whatever visible pixels you happen to click on (there's an on/off box at the top when you use the arrow selection tool) - this feature drives me crazy, sometimes, and makes me color on the wrong layer. If you hide or lock the lines, you won't be able to alter them by accident - if you try, you'll just get a message saying you can't do so.
otherwise...erm... a screencap wouldn't be a bad idea, because I haven't a clue at the moment ^_^

Okay, so here are some screencaps.
This is the regular background (something quickly sketched with a tablet)

When I colour it with transparent brush, I want it to look like this:

But there, I just coloured directly on the background.
Now, if I colour in a second layer, it comes out looking like this:

which is weirder, more dodgy and the lines don't stand out clearly or anything. And I still want clear lines, and the possibility of making a proper background.

It's like you reached into my brain and pulled out exactly what I was thinking when I saw that scene...
Anyway, the shading IS a bit odd, and some of the linework seems kind of rought to me, but all in all I like your style and your "timing" with the joke is pitch-perfect.

Well the thing about this is that it's really just a quickie as a comment to the episode, roughly coloured ('cause I'm bad at that) and just generally so not meant to reach 100 favs @_@ I'm still in shock and I think I'll redo it, like make some slightly better linework and redo the shading or something ...
